The book and video series, “The Next Thing: Dealing with Crisis in Personal Life” Is Cecil Taylor's first book and third video series. Cecil places discipleship in the middle of crisis, urging participants to be obedient and trusting in crisis, controlling their response to crisis while leaving the outcome in God's care. “The Next Thing” outlines a four part model of Simplify, Trust, Rest and Grieve that enables our response to crisis.
It's a lot to process! The purpose of this Participant’s Guide is to allow the viewers and readers to go deeper into their own lives to understand past crises and how to prepare for that Next Thing in their lives before the crisis hits. The Participant’s Guide defines daily activities, one week for each key chapter / lesson in the book and video series.
The Participant’s Guide is essential for fully processing and embedding “The Next Thing” into your life.

Introduction to the Participant’s Guide
The purpose of this book is to supplement your viewing of the video series, “The Next Thing” or your reading of the book, The Next Thing: A Christian Model for Dealing with Crisis in Personal Life. This book offers a memorable way to go deeper in your learning, to reinforce and develop the ideas you’ve seen in the videos or book, and to grow your practical faith skills as a result.
This study guide is primarily designed for the video series, but it works as a supplement to the book as well. In fact, the Participant’s Guide refers to both the videos and the book. The video series and book both follow the same basic format of Simplify, Trust, Rest and Grieve, so the study guide easily applies to both.
It’s important to note that this Participant’s Guide is not the book The Next Thing: A Christian Model for Dealing with Crisis in Personal Life. Instead, this guide supplements the book.
