Beschreibung

In the ninth and concluding volume of the Spiritual Knowledge series, the author turns his gaze from the present toward both the near and distant future of humanity. Through a clear and carefully structured narrative, he traces the major stages in the evolution of human consciousness and illuminates the spiritual tasks humanity will be called to meet in the coming epochs. In an accessible and reflective manner, the author explores the inner developmental possibilities open to modern human beings, as well as the consequences that arise from conscious and unconscious choices. He outlines two fundamental directions of development: the path of inner maturation and awakened awareness, and the contrasting risks of inner rigidity, stagnation, and spiritual alienation. This volume forms the conceptual conclusion of the nine-part series, bringing together the insights of the preceding books into a coherent and forward-looking vision of humanity's future. It is intended for readers who are interested in spiritual development, consciousness studies, and the deeper spiritual foundations underlying the evolution of humankind.

Preface

This ninth and final volume of the Spiritual Knowledge series is devoted to a subject that lies particularly close to my heart.

Why do we humans incarnate on Earth?

What is the purpose of our presence here, and how will our future unfold?

It may be that our existence is merely a biological coincidence—that after our final breath we dissolve into nothingness and fade away into the universe. In an age so strongly shaped by material facts, more and more people are indeed inclined to favor this logically rational interpretation.

Fortunately, however, there are also many who believe in reincarnation and the development of the soul. They intuitively sense that human beings do not live on Earth by chance, but that they carry a greater task and a higher purpose within them.

It is precisely this task—the earthly purpose of human incarnations—as well as the events that await us only in a more distant future, that this book seeks to explore.

For us as human beings to develop consciously and with clear direction, it is helpful to recognize both our present and future tasks, as well as the earthly goal and the later developmental goal of our essential nature.

Until quite recently, such insights were accessible only to a small, select circle. The transmissions preserved in ancient writings are often difficult for us to understand today, as they were composed in a symbolic and pictorial language that is foreign to us.

In this volume, I turn my attention to the present and the future of humanity. For we are currently in an extraordinarily important phase—one that will shape everything that is yet to come.

Here, too, I explain these connections primarily from a spiritual perspective, deliberately placing the everyday conditions of earthly life in the background.

In doing so, I place great value on clarity and comprehensibility. I am aware that my reflections cannot satisfy all readers equally—especially those who are already deeply familiar with spiritual science and may wish for more extensive or even deeper explorations.

For this reason, I choose a balanced middle path, so that readers who are less intensively engaged with this subject can also follow the content with ease.

I wish you an enriching and intellectually inspiring reading experience with this book.

Closing Words

Mike Brand, born in 1960 in Switzerland, worked for many years as an entrepreneur in various fields before dedicating himself to personal coaching, where he helped unemployed individuals reintegrate into the workforce. A profound intuitive experience at the age of 31 while in Asia, fundamentally changed the course of his life. Since then, he has been deeply engaged with metaphysical and spiritual subjects, following an inner path that has led him to a deeper understanding of existence.

Introduction

In this introduction, I would like to outline for the reader, at the beginning of this book, the most important key aspects of the development of the human soul.

This is presented in a deliberately simple and schematic form.

In the preceding volumes, I have already explained these relationships in various ways; however, for the sake of clearer understanding, I would like to return to them once more.

Over the course of its great developmental journey, the human soul passes through a total of 7 world bodies, which are situated within 7 successive universes.

When this developmental journey is viewed from a spiritual perspective, it becomes clear that the present-day human being—composed of blood, water, bones, and flesh—exists in this material form exclusively on the current world body, Earth.

And even within Earth’s own developmental phase, it is only a comparatively short period— 21 of a total of 49 epochs of time—in which the human soul-being undergoes physical incarnations on Earth.

Today, we find ourselves on the 4th world body. From a developmental standpoint, this means that we have already passed slightly more than half of the entire evolutionary course and now stand symbolically at the middle of the week— on Thursday, corresponding in temporal terms to the early afternoon.

These various world bodies, together with their respective cosmic realms, were described in greater detail in the second volume, Cosmic Explanations. Within spiritual science, each world or celestial body carries its own specific name.

In order to make the sequence of the different world bodies—or universes—easier to grasp, I use the designations of the 7 days of the week in this book.

Thus, the 1st world body is assigned to Monday, the 2nd to Tuesday, continuing up to the 7th world body, which bears the name Sunday.

World Body: Old Saturn (Monday)

World Body: Old Sun (Tuesday)

World Body: Old Moon (Wednesday)

World Body: Earth (Thursday)

World Body: New Jupiter (Friday)

World Body: New Venus (Saturday)

World Body: Vulcan (Sunday)

Listed below are the 7 world bodies through which human souls pass in the course of their great developmental journey.

On the 1st world body, the human being was born out of the cosmic abyss as a being of light, and after passing through the 7th world body, reveals itself as a great creative being.

In its essential nature, it has developed from the light-born state on Monday through to the human being on Thursday.

I have described the various stages of development along this path repeatedly in my previous volumes, presenting them in different forms.

Each of the 7 world bodies, from Monday through Sunday, encompasses 7 great ages.

Each of these ages, in turn, is subdivided into 7 smaller epochs of time.

When this structure is considered in its entirety, the human being passes through a total of 49 epochs of time on each individual world body, or universe.

After passing through the 7th world body, Sunday, this results in a complete developmental journey comprising 343 epochs of time.

Today, we find ourselves in the 180th epoch of time and have thus already completed more than 52 percent of this path.

At present, we live on Earth within the 5th post-Atlantean age and, within this age, in the 5th Germanic epoch.

In this book, we speak of a vast developmental step of the human souls, encompassing the passage through 7 successive universes.

The passage through such a universe is referred to as a world age.

Viewed from a higher perspective, however, these 7 successive world bodies belong inseparably together and, taken as a whole, form the great developmental journey of the human soul beings.

Below, I would like to explain the current earthly stage in greater detail.

Before the 1st world body, Monday, we were not yet present in the cosmos in our essential nature. It was only there that we were born.

At that time, however, we were not yet individual beings; rather, the entire soulful human family formed a unified whole.

Thus, during the 3 world ages already passed— from Monday through Wednesday—we developed into an essential nature that today, on Earth—Thursday—is able to act as a fourfold human being endowed with a free “I.”

When we consider the entire developmental journey, the 7 different world bodies reflect our own essential nature.

This does not mean, however, that before our time—that is, prior to the 1st world body, Monday—there was nothing within the cosmos.

There certainly was something, yet something that lies outside our time and beyond our understanding.

To approach this, let us consider the hierarchical levels of the present spiritual world that are accessible to us.

We recognize 9 levels within 3 hierarchies, all of which stand above human development.

Each of these forms of being that stand above us—from Levels 1 through 9—was, like ourselves, once born in the cosmos in the distant past.

In their respective time, they all passed through the human stage on a form of celestial body—a stage that we human beings are experiencing today on Earth. From a cosmic perspective, they are therefore significantly older than we are and

thus stand above us within the hierarchy. Their respective human stage, however, did not manifest in the same form as ours today, but was shaped by the material constitution of their then so-called humanity planet.

The Angels, for example, passed through their human stage on the world body that preceded our Earth: Wednesday (the Old Moon).

The Archangels completed their human stage two world bodies before us, on Tuesday (the Old Sun), and the Archai passed through this stage on Monday (the Old Saturn)—the world body upon which we ourselves were only later born.

If we carry this consideration further, it becomes apparent that the 1st level of the Seraphim—the Spirits of All-Love—passed through their human stage fully six world ages prior to our cosmic birth.

These Seraphim are therefore primeval beings, and it is said of them that they possess a direct vision of the Godhead.

Prior to our time, the cosmos was thus alive in manifold ways, and our own form of being entered an already existing cycle of development with its birth.

From the perspective of spiritual science, however, and for the sake of our present understanding, we consider only that part of this cycle which concerns the human souls: the world ages 1 through 7, from Monday through Sunday.

You may now wonder where the three world bodies that preceded Earth have gone.

Is the planet Wednesday, the Old Moon, perhaps our present Moon? Or does the celestial body Tuesday, the Old Sun, correspond to our present Sun, and Monday, the Old Saturn, to today’s Saturn?

No. The designations used in spiritual science for these preceding world bodies bear no direct relation to the present conditions of our universe.

Especially among those who are newly engaging with this subject, these names frequently lead to misunderstandings.

From a material perspective, the celestial bodies and their universes from Monday through Wednesday no longer exist today. Yet they all once existed—not simultaneously, but successively.

The present 4th world body, Thursday—the Earth—is a reincarnation of the preceding world body, Wednesday, the Old Moon.

The 3rd celestial body, Wednesday, in turn represented a reincarnation of the 2nd celestial body, Tuesday, the Old Sun; and this, in turn, appeared as a reincarnation of the 1st world body, Monday, the Old Saturn.

World bodies, or world ages, come and go, comparable to a human being who dies and is then reborn, clothed in a new earthly garment.

Viewed spiritually, the human being then appears as a being that carries within itself all that has already been experienced and passed through, with both its positive and its negative qualities.

Reincarnation does not apply only to the human being, but likewise affects all cosmic forms of being, as well as entire universes.

In this process, it makes no difference whether these reincarnations take place materially, etherically, or astrally. Everything and everyone develops, in accordance with its essential nature, toward an ever higher form of existence.

The planets, too, are subject to this process. When a world age changes, they transform their outward appearance into a fixed star, a sun. After this phase has ended, they transform in the subsequent world age into a zodiacal system, thus ascending step by step in their development.

This is indeed so, even though it is difficult—if at all possible—for us as present-day human beings to imagine. The universes, together with their world and celestial bodies, are born and, at some point, die again, and with them, the entire associated cosmos.

Since the light-birth of the human being, our present universe has already undergone three complete transformations; it has dissolved and been reborn. It has thus reincarnated three times.
