Chapter 1
The Earth, planet full of culture and habits, quickly became a place where the most traditional ideas seemed to have been lost, with the advent of the Internet and the many media. The media, with their messages hiding a manipulation of the masses, with the support of Governments and large enterprises, in much contributed to this. Nevertheless, apparently, the calm reigned on this planet, which among its inhabitants was thought to be isolated. It is true that the traditions of Earth have always contemplated the possibility of the day of the final judgement arriving. But no one ever imagined it would really occur. It was all a conspiracy, a religious silliness, for many people. And yet, the unexpected succeeded. On January 2, 2023, huge spaceships approached planet Earth. People looked alarmed at the sky, not knowing what to think, and no one could understand exactly what it was. They were enormous and dark objects, almost silent as they approached.
The American government quickly hastened to inform the populations of the world that these were satellites in orbit. Russia entered in a direct verbal confrontation with the US on this subject, thinking it is a North American strategy to invade the country. -Would it be a maneuver to dominate the world?, Repeated Russian and Chinese leaders. Hostilities gained ground. Europe, Russia, The Americas, Africa and Asia, were in great tension between themselves, without knowing what to do, what strategy to adopt, whom to support in final decisions and potential conflicts.
It didn't take long for Russian fighters to be seen flying over the area with orders to shoot these strange flying objects. They were everywhere, and they certainly wouldn't be allowed on Russian soil. On the other hand, tensions continued. And why the United States did not intervene and insisted on false explanations was something no one could comprehend. - It can only be a maneuver by the American President to dominate the globe!, Reflected the military leaders among themselves.
Communications eventually reached the military headquarters. What the fighters saw was alarming. –Calling the control tower. I'm trying to fly over the object, but it looks like a mirage. It's enormous, but it hovers in the air, and when I approach it doesn't appear to be more than a cloud!
-How could that be? Look at that object! Describe it to us!, Said the military commanders on the ground. But suddenly the pilot who communicated began to feel fainting. He still sought to approach as much as he could: –Calling control tower again! What I see is,... is,... Aargghhhh! My eyes are on fire! Arghhhhh!! My throat.... I feel there’s fire inside me... Ahhhhh!!
-Control tower, calling fighter Nr. 15! Fighter Nr. 15? Talk to us!
-I, I... Ahhrghhh! Noooooooo!!
The fighter crashed. And alarmed, from the control tower, they call fighters 16, 12, and 13: -What happened to fighter 15?
-We can't figure it out but we have the same symptoms!
-Shoot the object!, Yelled the commander.
-Fighter 13 here! I've got a clear shot! I'm going to shoot!
The missile is shot but trespasses the object and reaches Fighter 16, which explodes in midair.
-Fighter 12 here! I'm moving towards the object!
In the control tower remains a distressing silence. And suddenly, Fighter 12 disappears from the screens.
Chapter 2
Already ashore, Fighter Pilot 13, an American collaborating with the Russian Air Force, is reporting to the officers. His name is Jason Omar.
-What the hell happened in there?, Asks the Commander to Jason.
-I can't explain Commander!
-How can you not explain? I need some answers! Now! What am I going to tell the families of these pilots? Even more, what am I going to tell the government? And what answer do we have for civilization? I need something!
Jason paused briefly. – With all due respect, what we're dealing with could not come from this planet!
The commander paused and changed the subject: -Do you know the real reason why you were invited to work for us?, But Jason interrupts: -Because my family is Russian, even though I was born and lived all my life in America? And because you recognize my flight skill and need it to support your pilots' formation?
-Well...!, The commander responds nervously, then continuing: -This is the official version. That's correct! But the real reason is that your parents were important members of the KGB. They practically founded it. I was a great friend of theirs and after their deaths, on the last mission, I felt personally responsible for your future. And you didn't seem to have a bright future in the US, as a commercial aviator.
Jason, now feeling confused, interrupted: –With all due respect, my parents owned a supermarket. You're absolutely mistaken!
-No Jason. Your parents had to hide the truth even from you. But now that you know it, you might as well know the real reason why we received you in our midst. We needed to know if you were more Russian or more American. We needed to see how much those disgusting burger [...]
