Chapter 1
She was close to him. He was happy she was his. Her presence gave comfort to him. He was looking in her fair innocent face. She was smiling back at him. He felt complete that she was in his arms.
“Raphael, my man wake up. We will be late for class!” Frederick said shaking Raphael by the shoulder disturbing his romantic dream of his crush Kara.
“I’m getting up man. You have just spoiled a beautiful dream I was having. I wish it was reality, and I wish I did not wake up from it, but it is just a dream,” Raphael said feeling frustrated
“Was the dream about Kara?. Man I noticed how you look at her. Man you look at her with full attention. I bet it you was dreaming of her,” Frederick said with a grin on his face
“Man you are wrong it was not about that new girl. It was just about someone you will never know,” Raphael replied as he fixed the bed
“Man even if you deceive me I know it was about her. I feel you and her make a good couple.”
“Man Kara is not my type. She is not the type of girl I could go after. You know the type of girls I go out with on campus, and Kara is none like them.”
“Okay man you can hide all you want, but you will never conceal anything from me. I have been your mate for a while, and I know when you are falling for a girl and I see how you carry yourself around Kara.”
“Enough of this love stuff, let us talk of some other things, but next time you wake me up from a sweet dream I will punch you.”
“Man, I will let you dream about Kara as long as you can, but always know dreams can never be reality. You have to make that move, and show her you love her.”
“Hey Fred enough with this no sense. I have no love for Kara!” Raphael said throwing a pillow at Fred
Fred is right. I need to stop wasting my time in a world of illusion. I have to make this love a reality. I have to approach her, and show her how much I love her.
Raphael thought to himself as he finished fixing the bed and began to prepare himself for class.
Raphael Williams was in his last semester of his law degree. He was living in the university dorm with his friend Frederick who was studying business management. They were both freshmen at Liston university. Kara was his classmate, and they were both studying law. Raphael came from a high class family. He was primary raised by both his parents. His father owned his own company, and his mother was a typical house wife.
He arrived a bit late for class as he had found the professor already in the lesson. He took out his book and began taking notes of the lecture. As he was about to write further of the lecture thoughts of his crush began to flood his mind. He looked around class to see where Kara was sitting so he could at least see the girl of his dreams. Then there she was in her beautiful rose dress as his eyes was examining her beautiful physic his heart beat a bit faster. He felt a sensation of love go through him. He felt comfort that she was in class that warm Monday morning.
Kara Jones came from a middle class family. Her father was a chef, and her mother was just a house wife. She was second born in a family of three.
He got a hold of his heart and proceeded to take the notes. He made up his mind to approach her to tell her that he loved her. He gathered his strength that he will try to make his love a reality.
He had so much love to show her so he made up his mind to tell her how he felt. Though he tried to focus on writing, but he kept glaring at her time and time again.
After class Raphael stood from his desk to walk after Kara to express his love for her. He was walking behind her with his eyes fixed on her as she was walking with her close friends Nora and Camilla. His fear began to frozen him, but he resist his fear to approach the girl of his dreams. He continued to follow her behind until she was alone, and her friends had left her to go to the ladies residential hall. She was in the park that was near the premises of the university. She sat on the park bench and began to read her books. Raphael felt excited in his heart that he has a chance to express his love to the girl he loved. He walked towards her and sat besides her on the bench.
He forgot himself, and glanced at her as she was reading. He glanced in her fair dark face as her long hair partially covered her face. He almost froze, but he put down his fears.
“Hi, how are you?. Hope I’m not distracting you,’’ Raphael said as he felt his heart begin to beat up slightly
“I’m fine. No, you are not distracting me,” Kara replied as she glanced back at him
“You know, I find you very interesting, and I would like to know you. What do you say?.”
“If you mean to know me as just a friend that’s okay with me, but not as a lover because I have a boyfriend.”
“No, I just want to know you as a friend cause I feel you are a good person.”
“You are welcome. I feel I have seen you somewhere.”
