Beschreibung

Jenny is an executive assistant in a small, predominantly white town. When her boss, Lincoln, is let go, she's worried that she'll follow right after, or will be get shuffled around unti she's jobless. It's not uncommon for a new incoming executive to bring along their own assistant.

The only thing she's heard about the new executive, Marcus, is that he's a black man, rare in this town, and that's relatively young. As she goes to get her lunch delivery, she finally manages to greet him along with the other Vice President's. Marcus gives her a warm hello before continuing on with his meetings with executives.

While Jenny sits and eats her lunch at her desk, Marcus stops by and says hello again. She's oddly attracted to the tall, dark, friendly man but he head's into his office for a call. As Jenny notices a pop up on her calendar informing her of a last minute meeting, she pops into her new boss' office and is stunned to see him quite literally with his pants down.

As a lonely black man in a white town, he's been unable to "release his stress" so to speak. Jenny decides this is her chance to make sure that she gets to keep her job, get a raise, and maybe, just maybe, have a bit of fun at the same time...

I quietly yawned as I stared out the nearest window.  The office was mostly empty with people out at lunch.  My own lunch was on its way, a salad from a nearby cafe.  I wasn't sure of my future at the company as the executive I supported had been let go.  The new executive was set to arrive in a couple minutes and he could have easily asked for a new assistant.

His name had been brought up in passing, and while it sounded familiar, I couldn't match the face.  There was a ring and I stood up, heading towards the glass double doors down the hall.  My order had just arrived.  The young kid from the cafe holding my order stared down at his phone as I opened the doors.

"Here you go," he said.

"Thanks."

I handed him a couple dollars for tip and headed back towards my desk.  One of the other executive assistants in the office walked by and smiled.

"Hey!"

"What's up?"  I asked.

"Have you had a chance to meet your new boss?"

"Not yet.  He's been busy with a lot of meetings.  I'm kind of worried that they're going to rotate me out," I replied.

"What?  Why would you think that?"

"Well, remember Sara?  When Robby left, he got a new assistant, she was rotated around from one person to another before being let go.  And then there's Amy, and Leah..."  I paused as I bit my lower lip worriedly.

"Oh please, they weren't that good at what they did.  You'll be kept around, I'm sure of it."

"Thanks Tammy, but I just don't know," I responded.

"Just wait and see.  I'll also keep my ears open just in case.  I really think you're safe though," Tammy said.

Before we could continue talking, I saw a group of well dressed men make their way around the corner.  I recognized most of the vice presidents, but one of them easily stood out.  Not only because he was an unfamiliar face, but also because he was a tall, well built black man with a clean shaven head.  He filled his suit out well, even his blazer wrapping tightly around his upper body.

"Is that him?"  I whispered.

Tammy glanced over and looked back at me.  "Maybe?  I didn't know he was black."

"That's pretty surprising," I commented.

"A rare sight at this company," Tammy said with a small grin.

She was right.  Our company was very much the good old boys' network.  The senior leadership was filled with older white men.  The other assistants and I used to joke about it all the time.

"Well, guess I better get back to my desk," I said.

"Good luck," Tammy replied.

I gave her a small nod and walked down the hall, my hands clenching tightly onto my lunch.  The executives barely glanced at me as they discussed amongst themselves.  Only the tall black man acknowledged me, greeting me with a large smile and waving his hand as I walked by.  I smiled back and gave him a small wave back.

"So we're looking at pretty big increase in growth," one of the executives said.

"Hey, uh, is that my office?"  The black executive asked as he pointed over at the corner office.

"Huh?  Oh yeah, that's it.  Jenny sits right there in the cube in front of the door.  And... oh, there she is," the other executive said.

It was like he had completely missed me when I walked by.

"Jenny!"  He said.

I turned and headed back, giving him a small nod.  "Hi John."

"Great timing!  This here is Marcus Jones, taking over for Lincoln," John replied.

"Pleased to meet you Jenny," Marcus said as he walked through the smaller, older white men.

He easily towered over me as he approached and extended a hand.  I looked up and nervously shook his hand.  His dark skin contrasted with [...]
