CREATIVE NON FICTION
Creative non fiction is stitching up one’s real life experiences,
bringing memories, cherishing them, both good and bad and allowing them to build a mark in one’s life story.
Up with Pains
As the voice is heard through the intercom, I came to realize that finally, I’m in another island. An island which is miles away from home. Uncertain of what to expect upon arrival, I started moving out of the plane.
The striking warmth that envelopes the place adds up to my feelings of nervousness. Where will I go and how will I go there are the questions that traversed my fully confused mind.
As I reach the arrival area, I can feel the unusual pain in my stomach, telling me that I am hungry for I haven't had anything starting from my depart in Baguio. But this did not bother me. I went directly to the tricycle waiting area and saw myself sitting inside of it, so calm, as if confident that I won’t lose my way. I prayed and prayed, after all, it was my prayers that moved me with such strength and conviction.
While on my way, I kept thinking of so many things that I don’t even mind the driver asking me something, something that I cannot understand for he uses another
language/dialect, different from mine. I just instructed him to bring me to the bus terminal and there I was.
