It Begins...

“DO YOU PREFER THE RED slushy or the blue slushy? I personally prefer the red one mixed with the blue one.” Stacy’s boyfriend asked her as they were inside of the 711 filling up on some late-night snacks.

“I prefer the mix, just as you do, sweetie.” Stacy replied with a smile on her face.

“That is so sweet that we both like the same kind of ICEs.”

He proceeded to pull the tab and fill up the ICE when they heard a loud crash coming from the cashier area. Then a loud voice yelled aggressively.

“Give me all the money, right now. Do it, do it quickly.” a loud and angry man said towards the cashier as he flashed the pistol towards him.

Stacy and Frank took notice of what was going on and immediately started freaking out but only internally, externally they both froze, paralyzed and the slushy began to overfill on the cup as they just didn’t move at all, frozen in terror. Frank looked over at Stacy and put his hand slowly up to his lips motioning her to be quiet Stacy complied and then Frank motioned her to go lower on the ground so the bad guy wouldn’t see them.

Frank noticed that the cashier was trying to delay and stall them maybe he tripped a silent alarm under the thing and was just trying to get the robber to wait around a little bit longer.

“Hurry up, do you want me to blow your brains out?” The crook had clearly been agitated by how slow it was taking the clerk to empty the register and fill his bag with cash.

Frank was watching this all go down and he wanted to be a hero. He slowly started creeping over towards the man and was preparing to jump on him and take him down from behind as he slowly crept down the aisle he accidentally slipped on the floor that was recently mopped and caught himself in the chip aisle which dumped a bunch of chips and crinkles all over the floor. Immediately the crook turned around and put his gun towards Frank told him to get over here in front of the clerk.

Frank got up from his fall and put his hands slowly in the air and walked over next to the clerk.

This seemed to agitate the man even more and he pointed the gun straight at Frank’s face.

“Are you trying to be a hero boy?”

“No sir, I’m not. I was trying to leave, that’s all.”

“I don’t believe you, get over here right now. I’m going to have to end your life right now boy.”

He directed Frank to come kneel before him. Frank obeyed his wish and not right before him and then the masked man went behind Frank and put the gun right against his head. Frank could feel the cold steel against his skull and I could see the eyes of the masked man, he was clearly deranged. I had to get up, I had to do something I couldn’t just sit there and watch my boyfriend die.

“Hey. Why are you picking on him?” I said out loud as I stood up behind the shelf. I revealed myself.

The masked man turned away from Frank and looked over at me. Frank was not happy and he shouted

“Why did you do that, run! Save yourself.”

“The boys right, you shouldn’t have done that, now you will both pay for this.”

The masked man walked up to me point blank with the gun and said

“The last words little woman?”

“I do, and that is… Fire.”

The masked man looked a little bit shocked and stunned with my word choice. And then he looked back at me cocked the trigger of his gun and the instant before he pulled the trigger, my hands glowed green and red, and from them spewed a massive fireball and it blew the crook back all the way to the register. He was on the floor and his body was charred. He wasn’t knocked unconscious but he was delirious and the gun was away from him. Frank quickly ran over snatched the gun and put it to the guy.

“Don’t do it Frank, he isn’t worth it. Let’s just get out of here, and don’t forget the slushy’s. Oh, and call the cops please.”

We both grabbed our slushy’s and walked out after paying for them. As we were walking to our car the police were showing up and we could see and hear the flashing of the lights.
