PLUS - Homecoming - Jan Wolter (Yaśomatīnandana dāsa) Homecoming The journey continues. In this issue of "Travel, Learn, Grow" called Homecoming we find the source of inspiration that lies located in all of us. The truth needs instructions otherwise we will grope in the dark. The light of the revealed writings illuminates the path, like a map, for the journey of life. Where the most sacred place in the world is, who lives there and how EVERYONE gets there, this becomes clear in this book. The intention behind these texts lies in the realisation of not only a conditional body and mental concept, but a living, eternal soul that seeks an immediate experience with the Absolute Truth. In doing so, I, the travelling secretary, will philosophically accompany the various chapters with these topics from the Bhagavad Gita and the Bible. The stories of the numerous trips should thus be made palatable to spiritual aspirants and seekers. Blessed, who hunger and thirst for justice, for they will be saturated. (Mark 5:6) Alas, we journey with many stories, analogies, sayings and by the guidance of ancient wisdom to personal growth in pure consciousness. Come along on a journey HOME which will last forever. Dedication

To eternal friendship

In gratitude to the saints, wise men, masters, teachers, friends and companions. To the family, physical and spiritual. To all the people of this earth, this life.

From the darkness of ignorance You led me into the light of knowledge, from the blindness of the matter, you brought me back to the cause. This search back to You is sacred to us to learn who You really are.

Introduction

Basically, these texts are drawn from the flow of inspirations.

The traveller in me could always search for the truth on many years of trips to the most sacred places in the world.

Where the most sacred place in the world is, who lives there and how EVERYONE gets there, this becomes clear in this book.

The intention behind these texts lies in the realisation of not only a conditional body and mental concept, but a living, eternal soul that seeks an immediate experience with the Absolute Truth.

Timeless writings, such as those of the Bhagavad Gitā, or those of the Bible serve as inspiration and base, describing exactly this coming home:

On the journey to self-realisation, four types of people ultimately come to the personality of the Supreme Truth, God; those who are needy, those who strive for wealth, the curious, and last but not least the seekers for the most perfect truth.

This searching kind of man is completely busy questioning the eternal nature and personality of the Almighty, omniscient and omnipresent. Therefore, these are the Supreme Lord's favourite.

“Of these, the one who is in full knowledge and who is always engaged in pure devotional service is the best. For I am very dear to him, and he is dear to Me.”

(Bhagavad-Gita, 7.17)

This realisation is philosophically described as Bhagavan realisation, by which one experiences the Supreme Personality of God.

This knowledge is the Supreme Ecstasy and Perfection, which goes beyond the knowledge of the Supersoul and the knowledge of the light of God.

It is the most intimate relationship that a living being can have with the personality of God, Bhagavan. This is the actual journey home, which is presented here in a personal way through real trips on the path of self-knowledge in the form of this book.

In doing so, I, the travelling secretary, will philosophically accompany the various chapters with these topics from the Bhagavad Gita and the Bible. The stories of the numerous trips should thus be made palatable to spiritual aspirants and seekers.

May all people come to this realisation in the future, because it contains true, lasting and eternal bliss, which may be the miracle to save our lives, and essentially all lives.

The Holy Bible, Mark 5,3-5,10, proclaims the following statements about happiness;

5:3 Blessed the poor in the spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of the heavens.

5,4 Blessed the mourners, for they will be comforted.

5.5 Blessed the meek, for they will inherit the land.

5,6 Blessed, who hunger and thirst for justice, for they will be saturated.

5.7 Blessed the Most Merciful, for mercy will be done to them.

5,8 Blessed, who are pure of heart, for they will look to God.

5,9 Blessed the peacemakers, for they will be called sons of God.

5:10 Blessed the persecuted for the sake of justice, for theirs is the kingdom of heavens

Happy in this life - an experience at the end of November in Radhadesh, Belgium

So with a smile I came to the cowshed and was happy to forget my worries with the warm heartedness of the cows. These living happiness givers are true bliss on four legs, and peacefully on top of that.

The cows here in Radhadesh are well-protected and fed nicely in a five-star barn.

There stands a devotee in the cowshed talking deeply to the cows. I become aware by his voice; "Hey Yashomatinandana dasa, do you know how we can free Dharma the ox?"

Free Dharma, the ox?

In view of the circumstances, it should be said that these cows are protected and sacred, so all the requirements have been made to ensure that they are well, but as I saw, Dharma got stuck in the enclosure.

The captivity of the soulful creature in the cage of the body.

The head of the ox was trapped between a large wooden beam and a steel frame.

On the other side of the fence were the cows Ganga and Bhumi.

When drinking water, oxen and cows share a potion, and for whatever reason Dharma made it with his head into the steel and wood dungeon, but not out again.

Similarly, the soulful creature has received a formidable body, out of desire, and yet one is powerlessly exposed to the laws of nature. Birth, adulthood, growth, disease, ageing, dying. What remains beyond that?

Like Dharma, we are currently in this favoured but hopeless situation. With the acceptance of these laws, the agreement also comes with a higher truth, and this truth is personal.

Dharma couldn't do it alone, and yet he kept calm. When two seasoned cowherds entered the scene, the whole acting took shape, because in this tricky situation, only the joint effort could bring a solution.

The ideas of salvation ranged from pressing, pulling, carrots, oats, whips to ropes. We patiently fed him to understand that this could not continue, and Dharma, who apparently slowly realised his predicament, was suspiciously observed by his comrades Jamba and Gaura. It seemed a strange mood in the air, to the joy of God, because he in the personality of Krishna is known to love the cows.

With a rope around the horn, and with one cowherd each from the front and from behind, the thick Dharma moved out of the trap with equanimity, after about an hour, and what a fabulous relief!

An isolated case that well represents our current situation, imprisoned in the system of the world, which we so wished for, helpless, and dependent on a force to get out again.

The cowherds represent the leaders, masters and teachers who carry out their service to the joy of the cows carefully and protectively, lovingly and devotedly.
