It is only though human skills and intelligence of mind which can integrate the other resources in building an organization for the benefit of the society.
Our mind is filled with complicated cells and making it work beyond its capacity gives rise to what we call ‘STRESS’.
All persons experience stress during some time or other of their lives. Since there is competition in every field of life, there is a tendency to achieve higher goals, due to which, there is pressure or stress in fulfilling those achievements. There is much emphasis or stress to reach one’s goal. This brings about exertion of both mental and physical being in the body. Since an individual lives in a society, one has to work within the constraints to match his/her capability with our peers, colleagues, senior managers, directors and others. There is much press or stress to keep pace with other high flying individuals and companies competitors. One has to work within a range given to us, especially finance and working hours
The level of stress varies for different individuals: A type of personality has a sense of urgency and is impatient to complete his work. He/she has a very competitive spirit to win in any situation. They are always stressed even for minor problems. There are chances of committing more mistakes by them. B type persons are never stressed even in any tough situation. They can only manage small routine tasks. They are not capable of handling tough tasks which require more responsibility and exertion/stress on the employee. Some amount of stress is required in order to attain a person’s target. This stress is called as Eustress. The individual may not be able to achieve much if there is no target in his work-place. The emphasis/stress on target by company high-ups brings about quite a few changes in an individual. He/she learns new skills and undergoes training that helps to do his job with more enthusiasm and zeal, which in turn, brings about successful results. This brings about a big change, both for the welfare of the individual and the company.
In case an individual has fear while trying to achieve the company’s goals, he/she becomes distress. This kind of stress is negative. An individual tries to achieve the target with the fear of losing his job in his mind. He/she may not be able to learn new skills and may not be at par with his co-workers. He/she might get dejected in his job and so stressed that he may lose his job and become mentally stressed.
The person might change beyond recognition after being effected by stress.
SOURCES OF STRESS
Stress has become an integral part of our lives. There is an internal stress and an external stress affecting an individual.
Internal stress: In the case of students, there is stress to achieve high marks in the exams. The nerves are put to strain to achieve their objective. Peer and parent’s pressure and uncertainty of one’s future makes them to work hard and this stress or exertion leads to physical and psychological weakness.
