There's an old saying, which goes a little something like this: “if at first you don't succeed, cheat”. It's a helpful little adage, one that has helped many an athlete to a gold medal in the past (before they were forced to give it back) and something that has assisted in the completion of difficult video games for many years too.

Completion Bonuses

By successfully completing the game, you can gain access to a whole host of bonus features.

Cheat Codes

Complete the game once on the Casual difficulty setting, and you'll unlock a couple of cheat codes, one of which unlocks Big Heads mode, and the other will give you infinite ammo.

Costumes

Successfully complete the game on any difficulty setting, and you'll be rewarded with five new costumes for your army of two. These costumes are the Civilian, End, Mall, Medium Armour and Old School costumes.

Assassin's Creed 2

Condottiero War Hammer

Successfully collect and deposit 50 of the hidden feathers in the game to make this weapon available for purchase from the Blacksmith's shop in Villa Monteriggioni.

Auditore Cape

Collect and deposit all 100 hidden feathers in the game, and then speak to Mario in the Villa. You'll be presented with the Auditore Cape, which you can wear in every city to earn one of the game's achievements/trophies.

Band Hero

The Secret Notes

To earn a large number of the trophies in Band Hero, you must play tracks by specific artists from the set-list. Hitting a certain note within the song will win you the award, regardless of instrument or difficulty setting. If you're struggling to earn it, switch to a different instrument, or consider dropping down to easy mode. You're given a small clue to the name of each artist related to each secret note, but right here are the full answers. Get them all, and you'll earn a bonus trophy.

By successfully completing the game's story, you'll unlock the Armoured Suit for Batman. This suit, which can only be used in the Challenge Rooms mode, will give Batman added durability when it comes to taking on the bad guys.

After completing Verse 3 in Chapter 2, you'll have the option to enter codes that will allow you to unlock Weapons, Accessories and Characters.

To enter any of the codes, walk around the Verse 3 plaza, while not in combat, until you find some telephones. Different phones must be used for different types of content unlock. For example, if you wish to unlock a weapon, you need to use the phone on the left side by the stairs. To unlock an accessory, you must use the phone to the right, and for characters, you need to use the phone at the other end of the plaza. You will also need to have a specific number of Halos in your possession in order to unlock each individual bonuses, with the individual amounts detailed below.

Used the Hack Tool to hack an object at a distance.

Unbreakable (Bronze)

Defended yourself against the Big Sister without dying. Mini turrets and security drones will help a lot with this.

Look at You, Hacker (Bronze)

Killed 50 enemies using only hacked Security.

Adopted a Little Sister (Bronze)

Adopted a new Little Sister for the first time.

Savior (Silver)

Saved every Little Sister and spared Grace, Stanley and Gil. Simply walk away from the latter three after confronting them to be in line for this achievement.

Counterattack (Bronze)

Killed an enemy with its own projectile. This requires the telekinesis plasmid.

BlazBlue: Calamity Trigger

Unlock Unlimited Characters

Successfully complete the indicated task to unlock the corresponding Unlimited character:

Unlimited Hakumen

Complete Hakumen's Arcade mode.

Unlimited Rachel

Complete Rachel's Arcade mode.

Unlimited Ragna

Complete Ragna's Arcade mode.

Unlimited V-13

Complete V-13's Arcade mode.

Once you've unlocked the "Unlimited" versions of the characters, they'll have a new look and altered abilities.

Note: You can't use Unlimited characters in Arcade, Score Attack or Online, except in Player Match rooms that allow them.

Cheat Codes

Enter the following codes in the appropriate area, in order to unlock the corresponding cheat.

God Mode

Pause the game, and then quickly enter the following button combination while holding L2:

Square, Triangle, Triangle, Square

Immediately after entering this, release L2, and then hold R2 while you enter this button combo:

Triangle, Square, Square, Triangle

Provided you managed to do all this quickly enough, the game will go into God Mode, thus making your plane virtually unstoppable. If you wish to disable this cheat, simply re-enter the code in the same way.

Extra Damage

Pause the game, and then enter this button combo, while holding L2:

L1, L1, R1

Now release L2 and hold R2 while you enter this button combo:

R1, R1, L1

Provided you entered this quickly enough, the cheat should activate and allow you to do loads more damage than was previously possible. Again, re-enter the code if you wish to disable it.

All Planes and Missions

Enter the following code at the main menu, while holding L2 and R2:

Square, L1, R1, Triangle, Triangle, R1, L1, Square

Provided you entered this code correctly and quickly enough, you should find that all of the planes and missions are now available for selection.

Call Of Duty 3

All Levels and Artwork

My code allows you to unlock all levels and artwork in the game. To get these, simply go to the Chapter Select screen, and then enter the following combination, while holding the Select button:

Right, Right, Left, Left, Square, Square

Please note, you must use the d-pad to enter those directions. Once this has been done, you'll be able to view any piece of artwork from the game, and also play on any level. The effects of this code are not permanent, so you'd need to re-enter it the next time you play the game.

Secrets

By progressing through the game, you'll be able to unlock a whole wealth of extras, but the most important of these come when you reach the end.

Arcade Mode and Cheat Menu

Successfully complete the game once, and you'll unlock both Arcade Mode and the Cheat Menu for the game. The Cheat Menu can be found within the options menu if you pause during game play.

CoD Noir

To unlock the Cheats for the Cheat Menu, you have to collect set numbers of Enemy Intel Pieces during the course of the game. For the CoD Noir cheat, find 2 pieces of Enemy Intel in the game. This will allow you to play the game in black and white when the Cheat Menu has been unlocked.

Photo Negative

For Photo-Negative mode, you must collect 4 pieces of Enemy Intel. After activating this from the Cheat Menu, the colours of the game will be inverted, just like a photo negative.

Super Contrast

To get Super Contrast mode, you have to collect 6 pieces of Enemy Intel. This mode changes the contrast to make the dark sections much darker and the light sections much lighter.

Ragtime Warfare

For the Ragtime Warfare mode, you must collect 8 pieces of Enemy Intel. With this enabled, the visuals and sound will take on an old, silent movie style.

Cluster Bombs

Next, we have the much more exciting Cluster Bombs cheat, which can be unlocked by collecting 10 pieces of Enemy Intel. With this enabled, each time you throw one frag grenade, the explosion will carry the power of five of them.

A Bad Year

To unlock the Bad Year cheat, you have to collect 15 pieces of Enemy Intel. After this has been activated, killing enemies will cause them to explode into a bunch of old tyres.

Slow Motion

For Slow Motion mode, you must collect 20 pieces of Enemy Intel. Once you have this enabled, game play will slow down by about 40%.

Infinite Ammo

And to get Infinite Ammo, you need to collect 30 pieces of Enemy Intel. Weapons that benefit from infinite ammo will no longer have to be reloaded. However, this cheat will not apply to your RPGs, C4 explosives or Claymore mines.

Secret Mission

Finally, there's one extra secret for those that are patient, the secret Air Force One mission; Mile High Club. Upon completing the game, watch the credits all the way through to the very end. Once they've finished, you'll start a new mission, set on a plane that resembles the US President's Air Force One jumbo jet, in which you have to take down the enemies on board and save the VIP in under 2 minutes. If you've skipped the credits, you don't get the chance to play on this mission.

Unlocks and Rewards

Museum

Once you have completed the single player campaign, The Museum can be selected from the "Mission Select". This bizarre bonus "level" lets you wander around a museum dedicated to the levels of the game, checking out the enemy and ally models and firing off all the weapon.

Extra Custom Class Slot

Obtain level 70 in multiplayer and enter Prestige mode to unlock a sixth custom class slot.

Multiplayer Kill Streak Rewards

Kill Streak rewards can be obtained in multiplayer by taking out a certain number of opposition before dying yourself. Here are the rewards for your kill streaks:

AC130 Gunship - 11 Kills in a row.

Attack Helicopter - 7 Kills in a row.

Care Package - 4 Kills in a row.

Chopper Gunner - 11 Kills in a row.

Counter UAV (Blocks Opposition Radar) - 4 Kills in a row.

Unlock The Harvester Scythe

This code allows you gain quick access to the Harvester Scythe weapon. What you need to do is pause the game at any point, and then select the Options menu. From here, go to Enter Code, and then type in the following password:

The Hollow Lord

Once this password has been entered correctly, you should gain access to the Harvester Scythe instantly. Have fun hacking things to pieces with it!

Shop Trick

The following trick will allow you to make a tidy profit from certain shop-keepers for spending on vital items, which should save you ages of trawling about, scouring for bottle caps! Admittedly, you will need a few of them to begin with.

First thing you need to do is find a shopkeeper who sells two different versions of the same item at vastly different prices (which usually implies that one of them is broken). When you find this, purchase the cheaper option of the two, and then sell it back to the shopkeeper. Repeat this process, and as you go along, you should eventually discover that the item winds up in a fully repaired state, allowing you to sell it back one last time and get far more more than you have been receiving previously.

You can then spend the additional bottle caps you've earned on other useful items, or alternatively, you can always just keep your hands on the repaired weapon. The shops will generally restock every four days, so you can come back and do this at the time, or simply take advantage of the Wait function to make that time pass all the more quickly.

Infinite Item Meter. This can be found in the room with several warpholes after a puzzle sequence.

Hades' Helm

Gives you maximum health, magic and item meters. After killing Hades and jumping into the River Styx, swim down and to the right (against the current) and locate the helm at the bottom of the river.

Helios' Shield

Triples combo meter. Located to the right of where you kill Helios.

Hephaestus' Ring

Automatically win all context sensitive attacks. After you kill Hephaestus, you'll find it located on his left by the pool of water.

If you're looking for the toughest challenge, then you need to unlock the S Class Tier. These S Class challenges will give even the best Gran Turismo players a real run for their money.

In order to unlock the Daihatsu OFC-1 car, you must successfully complete all of the Class C tier races, earning a bronze medal or higher.

For the BMW Concept 1 Series tii '07 vehicle, you must successfully complete all of the Class B tier races, with a bronze medal or higher.

Maintaining friendships and relationships in Liberty City can lead to some rather useful bonuses. So instead of ignoring one of your buddies or girlfriends when they give you a call, why not take them out somewhere so that you can boost their "Like" meter, and work your way to one of the following bonuses.

50% Clothing Discount

If you get to a Relationship status of 80% with Alex, one of the internet dating girls, you'll unlock a bonus of a 50% discount at all clothing stores.

Car Bombs

By getting Packie McCreary's like meter up to 75%, you'll earn a new feature where you can call him up to receive a Car Bomb.

Chopper Rides

If you can get Brucie to like you at a percentage of 70 or higher, you'll unlock his chopper rides, where he can come pick you up in a helicopter and take you to one of the many other heliports in Liberty City.

Cheap Weapons

Successfully get a 70% like rating with Little Jacob, and you'll then be able to call him up to get weapons at a discount price from the back of his car.

Extra Help

By making it up to a 70% like rating with Dwayne Forge, provided you choose to spare his life in the main story, you'll unlock Extra Help. This allows you to call Dwayne, who will send a couple of his buddies to your location to assist with whatever trouble you've got yourself into.

Free Cabs

Once you've managed to get your cousin Roman to like you at a 60% rating, you can get free taxi rides by calling him for a cab. There will be periods in the game where this is unavailable, based upon the way that the story can go.

Health Boost

If you get into a relationship with Carmen, another of the internet dating girls, and can boost this to a rating of 80%, then you'll be able to start calling her to gain a health boost. That should save you time scouring the streets for health packs or fast food stores!

Lose Wanted Stars

And, if you can get together an 80% rated relationship with the third of the internet dating girls, Kiki, you will be able to call her up and remove up to three wanted level stars.

Annihilator

Finishing side missions is also a good way to earn extras. For example, if you pull off the mammoth task of finding and shooting all 200 of the Flying Rats throughout Liberty City, you'll unlock an Annihilator helicopter for yourself.

Huntley SUV

Also, if you successfully complete all 10 of Little Jacob's package delivery missions, you'll be given access to his brightly coloured Huntley SUV car.

No Ammo Cap

Those of you who manage the epic job of earning 100% completion in the game will see the ammo cap removed from your weapons. This will mean that you're no longer restricted by how many bullets you can buy for any of your guns.

Statue T-Shirt

At some point, you may want to head over to Happiness Island, where Liberty City's equivalent of the Statue of Liberty is found. If you go here and head up to the second level, you should find that you can walk through a door here, literally. This should cause a brief period of loading, following which, Niko should emerge wearing a t-shirt that features the statue on it.

Heart of the Statue

Finally, here's one of the games most well-hidden portions, the heart of that very statue. To get to this, you must first go and steal a helicopter from the Helicopter tours area of Algonquin. Fly this over to Happiness Island, although not too early in the game, or you could wind up with a 6-star wanted level!

Jump out of the helicopter when you're just above the feet of the statue. Provided you do this carefully enough, you should land on the statue's top-most tier, which consists of a square platform with a door on the middle of each side. Run around the platform until you find a door marked with a plaque that says "No Hidden Content Here". Don't believe a word of it, as you can walk literally through this door, and into a secret room with a ladder.

Climb this ladder, and when you reach the top, you'll find what you came to see, a giant, beating heart being held in place with chains. Pretty gross, but worth checking out!

All notes will now be connected by rope, allow you to use the slide bar to move between them all.

Now, when playing the Drums the kick notes will be automatically played for you.

Unlockable Characters And Features

By performing the following actions, you'll be able to unlock hidden characters, cheats and bonuses for the game without resorting to codes.

To unlock legendary guitarist Carlos Santana, you must complete the song "No One To Depend On (Live)" in Career Mode on any difficulty setting, with any instrument.

For the Man in Black, Johnny Cash, you have to complete the song "Ring of Fire" in Career Mode, once again on any difficulty setting, using any instrument.

To unlock the late Nirvana front-man, Kurt Cobain, simply complete the song "Smells Like Teen Spirit" in Career Mode, on any difficulty setting, with any instrument.

For Garbage singer, Shirley Manson, you need to complete "I'm Only Happy When It Rains" in Career Mode, on any difficulty setting, using any instrument.

To unlock the Auto Kick cheat, which plays your kick bass notes for you on the drums, you need to play the song "Mirror People" on drums in the Angel's Crypt venue, and successfully hit 200 non-cymbal or drum-fill notes.

For the Focus Mode bonus, which removes the background animations, you must play as a drummer and hit 265 Tom notes on the song "Brianstorm" by Arctic Monkeys in the Golden Gate venue.

To remove the HUD from the game, taking away your rock meter, star power gauge and score display, you have to receive a rating of Excellent for 75 consecutive phrases on Vocals for the song "Bring The Noise 20XX" in the Neon Oasis Venue.

To open up the ultra-difficult Performance Mode, which removes your HUD and the note track, you have to play in two-player mode on the song "Bleed American" and keep a band multiplier activated for at least 42 seconds. This has to be done in the Aqueduct venue, with any combination of instruments.

To unlock the Wormhole venue for use in QuickPlay mode, you must maintain a 4x multiplier on guitar for the song "Play That Funky Music" for 50 seconds. This task must be undertaken in the Sideshow venue.

Guitar Hero: Aerosmith

The following codes should be entered on the main menu, using the Guitar Hero controller. To enter them, you must strum each note or pair of notes.

To unlock Air Guitar, strum the following set of notes:

After you've entered this correctly, you can concentrate on hitting the pads and let the kick notes play themselves.

To activate Air Instruments, you need to enter in this code:

Yellow, Red, Blue, Green, Yellow, Red, Red, Red

Following the correct entry of this code, all of your rockers will be playing invisible instruments!

Alternatively, to make your Rocker invisible, enter in this code:

Blue, Red, Red, Red, Red, Yellow, Blue, Green

When you've entered that code correctly, your performer will disappear from sight, leaving a floating instrument.

For the ultra-difficult Performance Mode, you must enter the following code:

Blue, Red, Yellow, Yellow, Red, Red, Yellow, Yellow

You can now try your hand at Performance Mode, which will challenge anyone with a less than photographic memory.

And finally, for the Line 6 unlock, you need to enter this code:

Green, Red, Yellow, Blue, Red, Yellow, Blue Green

With that entered correctly, you'll get Line 6, which adds an extra line of notes for you to watch out for!

Guitar Hero: Metallica

Codes

For any of the following codes, select Settings from the Main Menu, followed by Cheats and then Enter New Cheat. On the screen you come to, tap in the relevant note buttons using either a Guitar or Drum Controller to activate the required code.

First of all, to unlock the Metallica Costumes for the Create-A-Rocker section, enter the following note combo:

Green, Red, Yellow, Blue, Blue, Yellow, Red, Green

To get Air Instruments for your characters, simply enter this code:

Red, Red, Blue, Yellow, Green, Green, Green, Yellow

Enter that correctly, and your rockers will still be playing away with what are ultimately invisible instruments.

To have the drums Always in Drum Fill mode (meaning you can hit whatever you want), enter this code:

Red, Red, Red, Blue, Blue, Green, Green, Yellow

Now you can bash away and score points without any of that rhythm or keeping time nonsense.

To have Guitar notes appear as All Slide Notes, you need to enter the following code:

Green, Green, Red, Red, Yellow, Red, Yellow, Blue

You'll then be able to play the whole song using the slide bar as opposed to the standard note buttons.

Back to the Drums again, to have all kick drum notes played automatically, just enter in this code:

Yellow, Green, Red, Blue, Blue, Blue, Blue, Red

Now you can happy concentrate on the pads, knowing that the kicks are covered.

For the Black Themed Highway, all you need to do is enter this code:

Yellow, Red, Green, Red, Green, Red, Red, Blue

For the Flame Highway, you should enter this code:

Green, Red, Green, Blue, Red, Red, Yellow, Blue

To get the Gem Highway, you must enter in this code:

Blue, Red, Red, Green, Red, Green, Red, Yellow

For the Star Highway, enter this code:

To put the game into HyperSpeed Mode (less notes, but faster), you should enter in the following code:

Harking back to an earlier code, to get Invisible Rockers, enter the following combo:

To go into the highly difficult Performance Mode, all you need to do is enter in this code:

This will now ask you to play the songs without the notes actually appearing. Best put some new batteries in your photographic memory.

Finally, for the Vocal Fireball, all you need to do is enter this code:

Haze

Ultra Hard Mode

If you're working your way through Haze and finding it's just not difficult enough for your liking, then don't be put off, as persistence will reward you with an additional challenge.  All you need to do is successfully complete the game once on any difficulty setting, and you'll be blessed with the rock-solid challenge that Ultra Hard mode. Only the very best Haze players will make it through this one.

The majority of the trophies within Heavy Rain are kept secret, with the exception of All Endings, Four Heroes, Heavy Rain Hero, Heavy Rain Master and Interactive Drama. The following information will let you know what you have to do in order to get them all.

We feel it best to warn you at this time that the information presented here will contain pretty massive spoilers for the game, essentially revealing the identity of the Origami Killer. Therefore, we would personally recommended that you at least complete the game once, before you go scouring through this list, and simply use it for future plays of the game as you search for the Platinum (which will take more than one play-through anyway).
