Chapter 1: Welcome to the Academy!
The sun was just peeking over the horizon, casting a warm glow over the Space Cadet Academy. Luna, Max, and Zara stood at the gates, their eyes wide with anticipation. Today was their first day, and the academy loomed before them, grand and inspiring with its gleaming metal and glass structures.
"Wow, it looks just like in the brochures, but bigger!" exclaimed Luna, her eyes sparkling with excitement.
Max nodded, his gaze fixed on the towering launch pads in the distance where a rocket was being prepped for a test flight. "Can you imagine? Someday soon, that'll be us going up there," he said, barely containing his excitement.
Zara, always the practical one, adjusted her backpack and checked her academy map.
"Come on, let's go. Commander Comet is supposed to meet us at the main hall. I can't wait to see the simulators and the training rooms!"
As they approached the main building, a tall figure in a shiny commander's suit greeted them with a broad smile
"Welcome, cadets! I'm Commander Comet, and I'll be your guide and mentor during your time here at the academy,"
he announced with a booming voice that echoed slightly in the open air.
He led them through a series of hallways adorned with photos of famous astronauts and remarkable space missions.
Each corridor opened up to a new wonder: training rooms with anti-gravity chambers, a gym where cadets were floating as they exercised, and classrooms filled with holographic globes of planets.
Their final stop was the dormitories, where each cadet would have a small room with a view of the Earth from space.
"You’ll find your schedules on your desks. Rest up tonight. Tomorrow, you start training," Commander Comet said, his voice filled with pride.
As night fell, Luna, Max, and Zara stood by their dormitory windows, looking out at the starlit sky.
They were no longer just dreamers; they were cadets, on their first step toward the stars.
