THE LAND OF TRADITIONS

Foreword

Thailand is a country where there are opportunities abound. The people are also friendly and welcoming. Thailand's breathtaking natural landscapes and traditional cultural components are compared to the more modern face of the country. Its economy is among the strongest in Southeast Asia. The capital, Bangkok, is not only used as the commercial hub of the country and a commercial center, but also as a cultural and educational center. In many ways, Thailand creates a balancing act between its awareness of traditions and its modernity. Each of Thailand's four regions represents a unique but integral part of the identity of the country.

Education is the Alpha and Omega

As in other Asian countries, education in Thailand is very important and highly appreciated. The students must pass strict tests and prevail against strong competition to get inside the best universities. Education on the English language is very highly valued, and the Thai government aims to bring Thai universities into the elite circle of science and technology. This is primarily a merit of Thailand's strong economy and the modern promotions.

The number of students in Thailand is supposed to increase this year, so the higher education system has intensive expansion needs. The formation of the study programs in English increases the interest of and facilitates access from students abroad. In Thailand, no equivalent to the German universities of applied sciences is required, because the university is the sole university form that offers departments for foreign students. Differences only from the fact that there are both state and private universities arise. The choice to join a Southeast Asian country’s bachelor's and master's program lets foreign graduates earn an internationally recognized Bachelor, Master, or Doctorate degree.

General information about Thailand

Introduction

Located in the heart of Southeast Asia, about 10,000km from Europe, is Thailand. This country has an area of approximately 513000km ² and has over 64 million inhabitants, where alone some 10 million people live directly in Bangkok, capital of Thailand. The unique culture in Thailand and the pleasant climate throughout the year attract tourists each year. Finally, the land, with its sun-drenched sandy beaches, turquoise sea, and crystal clear water make the best conditions.

Conditions for Entry into Thailand

Before you can start your stay in Thailand, there are a few conditions to be observed. The entry for German tourists now is pretty simple. People who are among the 41 countries with which Thailand maintains a diplomatic relationship can enter Thailand without a visa. Therefore, in order to travel to Thailand, German tourists only need a passport that has a validity of six months. At the same time, a return ticket must be shown to counteract illegal immigration. Upon entry into Thailand, German tourists at the airports automatically get an entry stamp valid for 30 days. However, the 30 days shall only apply if you fly by plane to Thailand. Because since December 2008, tourists arriving to Thailand by land get a visa for only 15 days. Although you can extend this period by a permanent Off and entries on and on.

If you wish to visit Thailand for more than 30 days, a visa must be applied for. Here are two different types available that have very different validities. The tourist visa is valid for up to 180 days, while the non-immigrant visa with the Class "B” or "O" is valid up to 1 year. For a tourist visa, the duration is 60 days, while you can stay for 90 days in the country with the non-immigrant visa. After that period you have to leave the country, but you can reenter immediately with a new valid visa. However, one should always make sure that the departure is timely. Otherwise, there can be problems. The universities in Thailand are very helpful in the appropriate visas errand.

The Passport

The passport card (temporary passport), or travel document, must be valid on the day of arrival in Thailand for at least 6 months. Children may enter with a German child's passport. It should be noted here that the entry with a child ID card is not permitted.

The Thai Embassy does not issue certificates to persons whose passports are valid for less than 6 months. If the validity of the passport is less than 6 months, the entry will not be granted, so immediate return is to be commenced. Therefore, they are advised to pay attention to the validity of the passport.
