As parents, you know how precious your children are to you. Children are very precious in God’s sight as well. Jesus said, “Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them; for of such is the kingdom of heaven” (Matthew 19:14 NKJV). It is our desire to see children come to know Jesus.
It is truly our deepest desire to bring the simple truth from God’s Word to children. We believe that what children learn today will be a guiding force in their future. Therefore, children need a strong foundation in God’s Word.
It is the responsibility of parents and godly teachers to teach children God’s ways. How else will they learn to love God’s Word? It is our prayer that once these little ones know who God is, they will choose to love and follow Him with their whole heart.
Psalms 78:5-7 tells us it is our duty to teach children the laws of God. “For he established a testimony in Jacob, and appointed a law in Israel, which he commanded our fathers, that they should make them known to their children: That the generation to come might know them, even the children which should be born; who should arise and declare them to their children: That they might set their hope in God, and not forget the works of God, but keep his commandments.”
May this book be a blessing to you and your children as you follow God’s pathway of righteousness.

Has anyone ever told you that they would do something, and then not done it? They made you a promise, but did not keep it. Maybe they lied to you, or other things happened and the promise was broken. Broken promises make you feel sad or angry. Sometimes you do not want to trust that person ever again.
God is not like this at all. He has made many wonderful promises in the Bible and He always keeps them. The Bible is God’s Word. His Word is always true! Genesis is the first book of the Bible and in it you can read about men and women who received many great promises from God. As they believed what God said, He did great things for them.
Sometimes the men and women in the Bible got tired of waiting for God to do what He said. They even tried to help God make the promises happen. It is a mistake to try to help God. Through their mistakes they learned to trust God and wait for His time.
There are many good lessons that you can learn from people in the Bible like Abraham, Sarah, Isaac, Rebekah, Jacob, and Joseph. God gave all of them some great promises, and many exciting things happened before those promises came to pass.
The Bible tells of a man named Abraham. Abraham’s story is found in the book of the Bible called Genesis. It does not tell us about when he was born or how he grew up. Instead the story begins when Abraham is a grown man, and married to a woman named Sarah, and they did not have any children. When the story of Abraham and Sarah first starts they were called Abram and Sarai, they were not called Abraham and Sarah until later. They lived with Abram’s family in a city called Ur of the Chaldees.
The people of Ur were wicked people andthey did not love God. Abram was different. He loved God and wanted to please Him. Abram’s father, Terah, decided to leave Ur and go to a country called Canaan. Abram, Sarai, and Abram’s nephew, Lot, went with Terah.
