High in the hills came a heart crushing scream, beating down the woods to be heard all the way to the busy streets of orange town. It sounded like a young lady; the town’s eyes gazed up and continued to stack up in groceries like the sound of help didn’t land in their hearts.
‘’dad please don’t do this’’.
‘’you are just like your mother, stubborn and useless’’.
Elizabeth’s breath got heavier as she tried to free her hand from her father’s grip; he tore her blouse and pushed her against the wall. Tears rained down the magic carpet her mother loved so much. He put his lips on her trembling neck and slapped her.
‘’get up and go get me some milk’’.
She picked herself up; with shame in her eyes she got up and headed out. She covered herself with her mother’s old head fashionable cloth, the smell of it reminded her of her mother, she wish she was alive and she knew none of this would happen since her father blame her for the death of Grace, Elizabeth’s Mother. But she didn’t understand how it was her fault when all she did was flirt with a country rich boy at the grocery store, and her mother came to get her so she can complete her cake, but unfortunately she got hit by a car. But what was the point, it didn’t matter since she blamed herself too, maybe if she never went out for that long, she would still be alive.
‘’I don’t see milk in this section’’. Elizabeth said to herself.
‘’hi, can you please help me’’.
‘’what seem to be the problem Miss’’.
‘’I can’t seem to find milk in this section i…’’ before Elizabeth can say anything else, the boy noticed blood stains on the pillars of her body.
‘’is that blood on your, right there on the thingy’’.
‘’oh yeah, I was cutting fish it might have got on me, you know’’.
‘’ so the fish cut you too’’. The boy asked, knowing she was lying; he looked at her and asked what happened, what really happened.
‘’even if I told you, nobody believe anything that comes out of my mouth since I am the killer of my mother’’.
‘’your mother?’’. He asked with his eyes out of his skull, shocked and wondering what she is talking about.
‘’when did you move here’’. Elizabeth asked the assistant of the store.
‘’few days ago, what is going on’’. It was this moment that she realized the boy knew nothing
‘’I am sorry I have to go, thank you’’.
He was left confused on what she was talking about; he was distracted the whole day while Elizabeth was being treated like a dog.
‘’ who were you with this time’’.
‘’ no answer huh’’. He went and got a belt and started cracking her flash just because she was not answering him.
The truth was, he was hurting, broken inside and needed someone to blame for the death of his wife, and since Elizabeth was her child. He did all he could to bring pain to her, and the love for her died the time he found out she was not her flash and blood. Elizabeth did everything in the house but it was still not enough to him, and he wanted more.
Every time Elizabeth went to sleep, she was scared on what time he will come and take her blouse off, it was an often thing and she ran out of strength to fight him off her. She just let him do what he pleases and never spoke about it in the morning. This was getting tiring and repetitive and it was messing with her mind, sometimes she felt like he is on to her but there was nobody.
