3One day when we were in class, we heard GROWLING.

We all

because it sounded like there was a TIGER under the table!

But then Lauren pointed to her tummy and said, “It’s just my tummy. I’m REALLY HUNGRY.”4

5And she MUST have been REALLY hungry! Because at dinners when she took out her lunchbox, we saw that she had FOUR sandwiches, THREE bananas and a WHOLE CUCUMBER in there! 6

Then, when we were leaving the dinner hall, we saw Lauren ask the dinner ladies for MORE food. We all watched as Lauren stuffed another banana and a bread roll into her bag and rushed off. 7

I had no idea why Lauren had her BAG with her because we aren’t normally allowed to take our bags to lunch. 8

Then, when we were all playing football, Joel gasped and pointed to Lauren’s bag because it was MOVING. Lauren picked it up and walked off. So we ran after her because something STRANGE was going on with her bag. 9

That’s when Irfan said, “It’s like she’s been feeding her BAG with all that food. Maybe her bag is

or something!”

10Then Lauren disappeared behind the big bush. So we peeked round and that’s when we saw Lauren with a PUPPY.

And the puppy was doing a wee!

“It’s my new puppy, Ella,” said Lauren. “I just got her and I didn’t want to be away from her all day. I’d miss her too much! So I brought her in my bag.” 11

We  all STARED at the puppy. We couldn’t believe it!

Lauren had brought an

ACTUAL PUPPY

into school. We all stood there

because NOTHING like this had EVER happened before!

12Then Joel said, “This is AMAZING! Can we stroke her?”

Lauren smiled and said we could and then she took out a lead and attached it to the puppy’s collar and we all took turns petting her.

And the puppy

14We watched as the puppy played in the bush. Then she ran back over to us and licked us all for ages! Then the puppy sat next to Lauren and made a little whining sound.
