Genre: NovelReference edition: de Vigan, D. (2008) No et moi. Paris: JC Lattès.1First edition: 2007Themes: friendship, mutual aid, difference, poverty, homelessness

No and Me (2007), transposed to the screen in 2010, is a first-person story about a gifted preadolescent girl aged 13, Lou Bertignac. She reveals her questions about life, about her family and human relations, about love and, above all, about human misery. Lou meets an 18-year-old homeless girl, No, whom she helps to overcome her situation. A true friendship develops between the two girls. The story is both simple and touching. The author’s talent lies especially in the description of the girl’s emotions, moods, hopes, disillusions and learning. No and Me is a life lesson that combines social and personal aspects.
