Goodness

Some people are far too good

put themselves in harms way; they never should

they suffer the pain; anguish and loss

to help the people who don't give a toss.

They see the evil as the tentacles spread

but the horror goes on for the price of some bread.

If we had no money there would be no crime

but the wealthy sell their souls for what; just a dime.

These visitors come and offer their hand,

yet lives trickle away just like so much sand,

the innocent suffer and rich check their chips,

every word is a lie that comes from their lips.

We watch species fade and beauty collapse,

can it all be so bad; well maybe perhaps.

We stand and watch where the eagle sores

but the game's on the TV; so we go indoors.

We see the mountains; rivers and seas.

We watch for the visitors; come save us please.

We are here; they answer; but cannot save you,

you allowed this to happen; so this is on you.

Are we past saving? The question remains;

the situation is hopeless; there's just too much pain.

But we look at You and all that You gave

and I for one am tired of being a slave.

Now is the time to tell them enough,

mankind is fed up with all of this stuff,

we are all better so much better than this

they can carry on; me? I'll give it a miss.

Never Doubt

Has He not taught us all that we know

Has He not proven we are never alone

Has He not given all that He is

Did He not tell us we always will live

Has He not loved us from the very first day

and told us to love one another this way

Did His tears not fall on dry dusty ground

Do we not know He is always around

Has He not guided us when we are wrong

and shown us all how to be strong

Has He not loved us in spite of it all

and gathered us up whenever we fall

Is His love not so exquisite and pure

that we can have doubts and not be sure

How can we question His strength His will

When He loved us then and He loves us still
