The golden jubilee of a country's independence means a great deal. And we are savoring that moment. A free country means freedom of expression along with many other rights. And the art and literature of a country can be rich only if there is freedom of expression. The more freedom of expression there is, the richer the literature of the country.

Now the question is how much the literature of Bangladesh has flourished in the last 50 years? It is not possible to answer this question in one word. To find the answer, we have to look back to history. Why am I talking about the literature of Bangladesh without talking about Bengali literature? First of all, I want to make this clear. Because historically there is a clear division in Bengali literature regionally. This division was created in the strategy of the partition of 47.

And we were freed from one ruler and chained by another ruler. But we are the nation who gave life for language. It is our pride. And by seeking the freedom to speak this Bengali language, we were able to dream of an independent land. Bangabandhu was our visionary. And through the realization of that dream, we got this Bangladesh.

Now if we look at the literature of Bangladesh we will find its unique potential. However, it is not very useful to analyze a literature or a writer from the perspective of the decade. But for the sake of discussion, we will proceed with the thought of this decade. And finally we get an overall picture.
