Materials Required:

DRITZ Belastraw Art. No. 110, 3 tubes of Main Color, 1 tube of Contrasting Color.

DRITZ Steel Crochet Hook No. 2.

DRITZ Bag Lining No. 787 (Zipper Top).

DRITZ Ornamental Zipper Pull.

GAUGE: 6 hdc or 3 star sts make 1"; 3 rows make 1".

BACK: With Main Color ch 43 to measure 7 1/2".

1st row: Insert hook in 2nd ch from hook and pull loop through, pull a loop through each of next 3 ch, y o and draw through all 5 loops on hook, ch 1 (star st made); * pull a loop through "eye" of last star st and another through back of last loop of same star st, pull a loop through each of next 2 ch, y o and draw through all 5 loops on hook, ch 1. Repeat from * 20 star sts. Ch 2, turn.

2nd row: Hdc in "eye" of 1st star st, 2 hdc in "eye" of each star st, 3 hdc in top of turning chain of last star st (42 hdc). Ch 3, turn.

3rd row: Insert hook in 2nd ch from hhok and pull loop through, pull a loop through next ch and through back loops of each of next 2 sts, complete a star st, * pull loops through the "eye," the back of last loop of previous star st, and back loops of each of next 2 sts, complete a star st.

Repeat from * (21 star sts). Ch 2, turn.

4th row: Repeat 2nd row (44 hdc). Ch 3, turn.

5th row: Repeat 3rd row (22 star sts). Ch 2, turn.

6th row: Hdc in "eye" of 1st star st, 2 hdc in "eye" of each star st, 1 hdc in top of turning ch (44 hdc). Ch 3, turn.

7th to 31st rows: Repeat 3rd and 6th rows alternately 12 times, then repeat 3rd row once more. Ch 2, turn.

32nd row: Hdc in "eye" of 1st star st, 2 hdc in "eye" of each star st to last star st, 1 hdc in last star st (42 hdc). Ch 3, turn.

33rd row: Repeat 3rd row (21 star sts). Ch 2, turn.

34th row: Repeat 32nd row (40 hdc). Ch 3, turn.

35th row: Repeat 3rd row (20 star sts). Ch 2, turn.

36th row: Repeat 6th row (40 hdc). End off.

FRONT: Work same as Back only work 1st to 6th rows incl with Main Color; 7th to 10th rows incl with Contrasting Color; 11th to 16th with Main; 17th to 20th with Contrasting; 21st to 26th with Main; 27th to 30th with Contrasting; 31st to 36th with Main.

GUSSET: With Main Color ch 7.

1st row: Sc in 2nd ch from hook, sc in each ch (6 sc). Ch 1, turn.

2nd to 6th rows: Sc in each sc. Ch 1, turn.

7th row: 2 sc in 1st sc, sc in each sc, 2 sc in last sc. Ch 1, turn. Repeat 2nd to 7th rows until there are 12 sc on row. Work straight until piece measures 24 1/2".

Next row: Skip 1st sc, sc in each sc to last 2 sc, skip next sc, sc in last sc. Ch 1, turn. Work 5 rows straight. Repeat last 6 rows until 6 sts remain. Work 5 rows straight. End off.

Pin Gusset in place between Front and Back. With Main Color join edges by working sc through both thicknesses. Mount on DRITZ Bag Lining No. 787.

SHOULDER STRAP: With Main Color ch 7. Work 1st to 6th rows of Gusset; then work straight until piece measures 34". End off. Sew ends of shoulder straps to top ends of Gusset.
