The world changes at night. Scenes of benign tranquility during the daylight hours can be skin-crawlingly creepy during the diurnal dark period.
Ghosts exist. You may have friends or relatives who pooh-pooh their validity but the empirical facts are on your side.
A CBS News poll of 2005 said that 56 percent of women polled believed in ghosts, while men were only 38 percent positive. A 2013 Huffington Post said it was closer to 45 percent of those reached.
Both reports of course were laced with smart-aleck remarks that would have you jump to the conclusion that these people were kooks. (It’s interesting to note that these same reporters would take a similar sideward jab if the subject were the Catholic church).
Are people who are enthusiastic about ghost sightings delusional?
Hardly.
Ghost enthusiasts come in all stripes and professions. During a group excursion, you may be surprised to be standing beside a banker or a professor; conferring with a baker or a siding salesman. Curiosity of the unknown is a powerful draw; pretend scientists who claim that the global warming matter (so called) is a ‘done deal’ have surrendered any intellectual inquisitiveness they might have once possessed.
There are many undiscovered, remarkable things science has yet to uncover. Each generation believes it has all been done – there is no stone unturned – and yet, we discover new things (astounding facts!) every day.
