INTRODUCTION
It is 2023 and I am sitting at my study desk thinking about what skill we already have that we can use to birth more liquidity, become a freelancer, and be our boss, then it hit me; Copywriting.
This is the kind of skill that you already developed or are developing in your school days requires little practice, learning, unlearning, consistency, and quite frankly repetition of said process with consequence experience that can make you $100 per hour.
According to the US Bureau of Labour Statistics breakdown, the most current average salary of a copywriter is $62,170 per annum with an equivalent hourly wage (based on the 40-hour work week) of $29.89. While the lowest 10% of copywriters earn $30,700 per annum with an equivalent hourly wage (based on a 40-hour work week) of $15.24. Now, guess how much the highest 10% of copywriters make.
The fun part is, irrespective of your location, you can make as much as you desire, convert it to your local currency, and live a financially free life.
Once Upon a time in 2017, we were given a week project to research a certain topic back in university. I took my notepad with confidence that I will get results from either the internet or in books and off to the library I went.
To my greatest surprise, I got nothing. No results from the internet, no answers from the books I searched. After 3 days, it felt like going to the library was a waste of time.
By the fourth day, it dawned on me that there was simply no answer to my question but I knew that I couldn't submit an empty sheet. I decided then and there to just write. Fast forward to 3 days later, my project became the most hailed among my peers.
Now I'll be lying to tell you if I tell you that I developed this skill in a day. It was a result of continuous practice that I became good at what I do.
This book is a product of extensive research that has proven to contain the rudiments of copywriting, focusing on getting you from being a beginner to an expert with the eventual result of a massive source of income. But firstly, what is copywriting?

As of November 2022, I was intentionally looking for a course in virtual assistant. I scrolled through my Instagram and found the copy that got name stuck I kept reading the piece until I paid for the course.
Mind you, I saw several other virtual assistants course adverts but none got my attention except one which was solely meant for me to buy. That is what copywriting does.
Copywriting which is also known as sales copy or copy is the act of writing a piece to make your audience take an action, be it signing up to a site, subscribing to a channel, making a phone call, or buying.
It is salesmanship in print focused on persuading someone to take an action. Any email that is trying to get you to take an action is a form of copywriting.
Copywriting is just writing, using words and arranging them in an interesting and persuading order to create brand awareness as it is one of the most effective and profitable ways to grow a business.
From the story, at the beginning of this chapter, we can see the importance of copywriting. The importance of copywriting cannot be overplayed. Let us dive into it.
Importance of Copywriting
Copywriting is very important because no matter what business you do online, you will need it. This is because copy evokes emotion that instigates sales.
Reminisce on a time you read a copy that got you to buy something. That feeling where you pay for something and/or take an action and then in the next minute, you are asking why did I do that? That is what a good copy does.
When writing a copy, you can leverage on your audience's emotions by addressing their problems and stating a solution.
Copywriting helps in converting words into money. You are introduced to prospects via copy as it helps optimize your rank on different search engines. When a person seeks a solution to their problem on search engines, if your copy comes out as a result and offers solutions that are pleasing to the audience, it advertently increases sales of your business or service.
For every business that has a community, there is a copywriter who consistently writes impeccable copy that intensifies intimacy between the business and its audience, hence creating a bond and trust between both parties.
Copywriters help in connecting clients and prospects by speaking to their wants and needs thereby eliminating any ambiguity currently existing in businesses.
There are varieties of copywriting services a copywriter can embark on. Copywriter who is simply a person that writes copy can decide to work as an in-house staff by being employed fully in an organization or he can be a freelancer, or a business owner, carrying out copywriting tasks at a price of his own. This copywriter can engage in any of the numerous types of copywriting.
