Beschreibung

The King of Crimson breathed again and exclaimed how displeased he was with the state of his army's soldiers. They have eaten and drank during the century of peace and become weak and content in life. This was good in the time of peace but he wanted to expand his dominion further and needed new, hungry and ravenous young men whose ambition knows no bounds, only the sky and the bloody horizons can fill their empty stomachs. Julius planned a voyage to the Isles of the Kraken, to see the islanders and the druids. He wanted to see if there were young strong boys who were not raised to be slobs and boring, but ambitious men of battle and hardship, and of course riches. The spoils of war could turn anyone into a killer in an instant. The jealousy and envy inside the human heart is a fact proven by history time and time again and again. He wanted to sail his longship with the creme of the crop of his men and show them their skills in hope that they can impress them and make them join their cause, and fight alongside one another in a war in the South. Julius arranged for his servants to ready the ships, five of them to be exact, and summoned Mark Anthoni to give commands to their best warriors. Julius would of course lead the voyage to the isles, so he can show off his god-given skills and talent with fire, ice, nature and thunder. He was a God after all, and who else better to impress young men? None.

1: Peacetime

None.

2: Stormborn

The ships almost sunk in the typhoon storm. Many of the men flew overboard, and only half of them could be saved. A dark monster had been seen in the storm, flailing the boats with its tentacles. But they had arrived at the Isles of the Kraken and were now trying to land safely. And they did, they were now safe. With half of their men gone, they easily fit in the tavern, where Kraig awaited them. But the air was gloomy, not merry as thought beforehand. Kraig raised a mug, and commanded everyone to drink up, and cry later. Everyone agreed and toasted to the Kraken. In the middle of the feast, Julius talked to Kraig one on one, in a serious tone. He was here on an important mission, and already lost half of his best men. This was no time to joke around, but Kraig assured him that there is no way to go out to the druids in this storm and that they needed to wait it out nevertheless. Might as well eat and drink, eh, buddy? asked Kraig. Julius looked at him with dead eyes, but took a hit of the pipe and drank his fill and finally relaxed, like the rest of his crew. Tomorrow, then. Tomorrow we shall discuss serious matters, but tonight we shall drink and dance. Get you off your moody boat, friend, said Kraig to Julius, who now gave away his first smile of today. He is right, Julius thought to himself. Just enjoy tonight. And he saw a beautiful islander woman, looked at her and stood up. Kraig, I'm gonna have a fucking great time tonight, I tell ya, said Julius as he drunkenly walked to the girl. Celebrate that we are alive!

3: New Recruits

They were walking the road to the druids. The animals once again greeted them and joined them on their venture. They finally reached the druids and their wooden houses and tents. More often than not they slept under the large trees, but if it rained, some took shelter in their houses. There were places for magical rituals and sacrifices. But they would not sacrifice anything living nor corpses, only minerals and gemstones. Julius liked the gemstones, but not enough to steal from the druids. He had enough spoils of war and wanted to recruit some of the new druids to join their war efforts. But the druids loved living in peace, and they were hard to get to leave their home. But Julius created a fascinating show with his powers, which the druid named black magic, but he was fine to let them call his powers whatever they wanted, as long as he could impress some of the youth. And he did. But the druids had taken an oath to not fight against anyone, unless in self-protection. And Julius promised that they would not need to attack anyone first, only for their own protection...
