GOOSEBUMPS: MOST NEEDED
HUNGRY FOR FLESH
By Krish Bhavnani
You are most NEEDED. Be careful there, that isn’t a mat. That’s a scorpion. Yes please, take a seat. Now tell me, are you wanting to hear the strange story of ‘HUNGRY FOR FLESH’ based on true events or so Carl Matthews says.
Hi there, my name is Carl Matthews. I’m 13 and I live in downtown Ohio. I have a pretty normal life, if you ask me. However, what was going to happen would change that forever.
My parents are the best. My mom, she’s small and fair with a long nose. She would do anything for me, that is, if it makes sense for her. But my dad, he is the best in the whole universe. My dad well… he’s intimidating. He’s a big tall man with muscles and a beard. He’s fair as well but he has high blood pressure. Me, on the other hand am pretty dark. I don’t know why. I guess fair and fair means dark. I am tall for my age and I naturally have no siblings. Mom says she’s had enough. I have troubled her too much already and that she isn’t ready.
So anyways, all this mess started when my dad wanted to rent out another one of his houses because he just loves to do so. For this purpose, he’s been trying to find someone to come live in this house. Also, this house my dad wants to rent out is pretty cool from the outside. In one word, it’s huge. It’s almost as tall as a medieval castle. The only difference is that it’s squared and has a roof that’s almost impossible to see with the naked eye. The whole building is gray except for the windows that are, for some unexpected reason, are black and white. I have never been inside, but I’m guessing it’s going to be as cool as the outside.
Just today, a family of three moved into this house. Dad was the happiest person on the planet. The family was small though. Two parents and a child who I thought was a girl and my age. I was very eager for them to come as well. I like socializing, you see. Anyways, I wanted to go meet them right away when they came but mum told me to wait a bit. When I asked why she said it doesn’t feel right to go right away. Mums right!!
