WHY YOU WERE BORN
one of the basic or major reasons why problems keeps rising here and there in Africa and the world is simple, majority of people have mixed or confused feeling as to their reason for being on earth, of why they were born. they cannot fathom the reason why they are born, even till they get to an advance age and that’s why there’s increase in suicide and in many other vices facing the continent and the world at large, and because of this many of them become useless, or become a nuisance to or deviance to themselves, their family, community, country and eventually their world. Because we don’t know the reason for our existence, we don’t see anything good in ourselves and in others and because of this a deep rooted hate is born inside the individual, hence they develop gangster theories “ like he who loves nothing fears nothing”.
And because of this there is violence here and there in the disguise of politics and religious fanaticism, campus cultism, and overall gangsterism and all kinds of devilish acts, the list goes on and on.There is a special reason why you were born, a wise man said that your life is a gift from god but the outcome of it is your gift to god, so what gift do you intend to give God your maker who has made you in his own image and likesness,amongst all the many creations of God, uncountable and amongst all he says you were the one that he created this world for to be his child and have dominion, he has created all things and made you this master of it, in this chapter I will quickly introduce you to yourself.
Scriptural study, research, and inquiry from those who have been around before I have revealed that man or you are a spirit being, having a mind and residing or living in a physical body. meaning that God our father and creator is a spirit having all greatness of omnipotence, omniscience and omnipresence, and we as his children have this gene in us, the gene to co-create to be the best, to achieve success, and he gave us one duty to be fruitful and multiply meaning that we are created for something more than just given birth, God breathed his spirit into you and you became a living soul, God didn’t just create you just to make babies, he created you to continue his already perfect work, he created you to bless the world with your talents and potentials he has invested in you, to positively affect the world, to be the change we have been looking for, to be the scientific inventor Africa has always wanted, to be the doctor, lawyer or the entrepreneur and not just sit and expect everything to be perfect, remember that with or without you the universe will still be in perfection, why not play your role?
A man describes this world as a football field, and there are actually four groups of people, there are those who are the actual footballers or football players, these are the people actively involved in life, making sure their lives count, there are the watchers or should I say the fans in the stadium watching the match live and direct, these could be the people who see life for what it is, they enjoy watching others succeed but they are scared to be players or actives themselves, then just outside the stadium there are the wanderers ,these people were even late to the stadia so all they can do is hang around and just wander outside the gate waiting to hear sounds of the winning team. Like I described the players are those who put their all into life they are the stars, they have worked so hard to reach where they are today, and now they are enjoying the dividends that life has to offer, these are the group of people who have discovered their talents and use it to bless the world, and then we have the watchers who just sit to watch, they clap when you score and they sigh when you lose, it’s not bad to be a watcher or wanderer in life, the only bad thing is to remain there stagnant and your life is neither going forward or backward, the wanderers are those who are never serious, they are always late to the game, hence they rely on second hand information, my friend reading if you are reading this book and do not fall in any category or you fall into the last, never worry, you can still make it happen, you can still rise and take your destiny in your hand. No one is born to be poor yet some will remain poor till death, no one is destined to suffer yet that’s what many people are going through, I discovered some years ago that a thin line divides all life, life and death, sickness and health, the rich and the poor e.t.c so now it depends on you if you want to be a great personality or you want to live a life with no value,donot blame the witches in your village when things go wrong, look within and see how you came to this level and how you can re-arrange your life by retracing your steps.
REFLECTIONS
1)The first thing to do is sit down some where cool undisturbed with a pen and paper and ask yourself why was I born into this world? If you don’t get clues, try listing your talents, like a hundred things you can do, from there go next to reducing them to fifty and then reduce to twenty five, this time make sure it gets better and then to ten till you can get one you do so well, the one you do when no one is watching you, whether in the arts or sciences, write it down.
2) Next ask yourself what value can I add to this world, how can I use this talent to impact my generation, make my family, my state or region, country and continent most importantly myself and God proud?3) Next you ask yourself what’s my worth, how do I market my God given talents and potentials use them to generate income for myself and at the same time blessing and affecting lives positively with it?4) what do I need to make all these a reality, what do I need to start, asking yourself this questions and answering them by writing in solitude will aid you on the path to true self realization, the hidden potentials in you that haven’t been tapped and how to achieve this.

This chapter is a continuation of the chapter one, like I said in the previous chapter many people, and maybe probably you reading doesn’t know yet why you were born, this is a very important question that everyone will have to ask his or her self someday, like the Greek adage “man know thyself and thou shall know God and the universe”.
the first step to succeeding In life is to know yourself, know the purpose for your being on earth, a popular bishop said that in life you are either running with a vision, going on a mission, or burning with a passion, he goes further to say if you do not belong to any of these your life is reduced to a burden. After reading this for the first time I sat down to meditate on it and asked myself what is my life really meant to produce, the statement carries a powerful but basic truth that we all may not have considered. You cannot live a life of positive impact if you cannot discover the reason for your existence on earth, everybody cannot the holly or Nolly wood actors, everybody cannot be doctors, business men, preachers, academicians or politicians, but you most definitely can be one of these, so you should look for that which you are gifted ,that one that is in alignment with your vision in life, I will now try to break what I explained earlier for your better understanding.
1. Vision:- I took the first definition from the Macmillan school dictionary which gave about four definitions, but I will use the first definition which says “vision is the ability to think and plan for the future using your intelligence and imagination”, the bible also says where there is no vision the people perish, but they that keepeth the law happy are they,Prov 29:18. From the dictionary definition and the bible text we can now learn that vision is a universal and even more, it is a spiritual command that must be obeyed, ignorance is never an excuse, many people suffer and die, nations clash and crash because of lack of vision, the leaders are even more confused than the followers, I believe strongly Africa will grow better when more visionary leaders are voted into power, because basically what they lack is vision, people are ready to work with leaders that have vision, that’s the era we are living now that’s why people come out en masse to vote unlike before when people didn’t really care, what is your own vision in life ?search for it within you, it’s there somewhere in your inside, discover it remember that vision has no force, power or impact unless it spreads from the visionary to the visionless, let me now go further to explain…..
2. Mission:- it is an important task that you are sent to accomplish. every organization, be it political or business has a mission statement ,this mission statement carries the aims and objectives that this organization wishes to fulfill during the span of their existence, as this applies to companies and parties it also applies to you and me as individuals, until you view life as a special mission to be accomplish, it will have less meaning to you and this is one of the reasons why people commit suicide or become miscreants, until you have this inner feeling that you were created for a special purpose, a special mission, life becomes a nuisance, you automatically become a nuisance, and life becomes out of point ,you become like the wanderers I explained in chapter one instead of the actual star.
3. Passion:- passion is that that strong enthusiasm or interest you have for a particular thing in your life, passion is the driving force within you to achieve that which you really want to achieve. It is passion that makes you wake up at night to read when others are sleeping, it is passion that makes you enter the rain to work to make sure you are not late even when you know the rain will fall on you, it is passion that gives you hope to continue fighting for your dream even when there is no sign of hope, it was passion that made graham bell able to invent phone, made the Wright brothers to invent the airplane passion that made David oyedepo of the winners chapel to be who he is today even though his church stated in a tennis board and a Volkswagen tortoise car. You must be passionate about what you do, in school study to show yourself approved, in your work place let your job show your boss how serious you are, not for eye service but because you love what you do, that’s what passion is all about, its that particular thing that you love doing without someone teaching or motivating you.
Finally the purpose of life is to live a life of purpose, your life must carry a meaning, people should be able to see you and identify you with something positive.If you can follow through with the tips written in the chapter one it will be your starting point to realizing why you were born, personally I have always had this inner feeling and conviction that I was born to affect lives positively, I believe I was born to save many out of ignorance, to change my society positively. I have always dreamt of how I will stand before audiences to give inspirational messages that would change lives , how I would be on radio and television to handle issues that concern the new generation youths, how my community is going to be a beautiful place of attraction for people both far and near, how I would train the less privileged children to school and visit the sick to always pray with them and encourage them, how I would be the non-violent revolutionist of my country, continent and the world ,like mahatma Gandhi and martin Luther king. These have been my dreams and vision and have summed up to be the purpose of my birth, they have become the reason for my creation. And these are and will be my lives mission. Angels appear to tell people the reason for their creation, sometimes God even talks to some directly, but what if this doesn’t happen to you, does it mean that you don’t have any reason to live, no God has programmed you for something until you discover the reason for your creation, your life is reduced to a burden. It is very good to know why you were born; it is good to have dreams and visions and goals but there has to be a systematic approach to them, so that you can achieve them one after the other. In my book “Ability to become” I explained how you can have vision and make them achievable goals.

No man is an island of himself, every man was created because of something, every man was created to fill vacuum, to solve a problem, to cause a change or to make the difference, when I was coming out for student union government president at the centre for community development education Affiliated to the University of Benin, do state Nigeria, many people discouraged me. Some even said that I was not strong enough for the task, some believed that I won’t win because am not from Benin or Edo state Nigeria, others believed that I was too whimsical or sarcastic to become president, they all had their views and believes about the person that I am but I never allowed that to bother me because I know who I am, a man who believed in the law of vision which states that whatever I mentally conceived and believe, I can achieve, I believed that I was going to brake some old dirty records, and set some straight while I create my own new clean records , and although I encountered many problems and obstacles I eventually became the president of the student union government, and all of those people who never believed in me and even opposed me became my friends and they came to celebrate my success with me, this shows us that failure has no relatives, only success that has an extended family with childhood friends and all.
The secret of how I made it to be the president of this great union was that I was able to impact the lives of students, I was able to change how many of them thought about politics, I was able to infuse my purpose into them, if you are living the life just for yourself you will die a wretched man, even though you may be rich, what good is your wealth if your siblings and relatives around you can’t eat good food, when you die no one will miss you, you will not be remembered, because the only memory about you will be bad unpleasant memories, you would have been of zero impact, look at wicked people who have died like Adolph Hitler, Saddam Hussein, Idia Amin and the list goes on, this people are hardly remembered after they died because their memories only bring pain and negativity, but look at Mahatma Gandhi of India, Martin Luther king of America, Nelson Mandela of south Africa, and Kwame Nkrumah of Ghana, these men have been immortalized and still remain in the hearts of many because of their sacrifice for their people, whatever you do where ever you are always make sure that you are living a life of maximum impact. Above all your life should be a teaching, you must be a role model, you must be able to add something to this wonderful world , when my first book came out, I received a lot of text messages, phone calls and emails of people who have been challenged by the book, telling me how they have been encouraged to keep moving in life, some asked for additional advice which I gladly gave, when I go on air and assist people on how they can become better people it gives me great joy and fulfillment and makes me feel I am on the right track, and it gives me a sense of purpose when I know I have touched lives through the talents that God has given to me, we should be motivated to impact lives ,we should strive to improve ourselves so as to improve others.

We have been able to understand purpose and how we can live a life of impact, there are other things that can assist us in the process of making the our lives a blessing to others, and one undeniable factor is becoming a success, we cannot do much in life with finance, both for yourself and for others, we need money to enjoy life and make others enjoy it, this chapter will be practically particular about this matter. In the search for money and wealth many have been led astray, most were not patient enough others just didn’t know and so they go into crime just to make hands meet, they have refused to understand that Rome wasn’t built in a day, and that all great things started small, the first step to become successful in life is to build a mentality of prosperity, majority of Africans are poor today not because there are no opportunities but because they do not even have the eyes to see them, and at the end of the day they blame their predicament on the government, in as much as the government has a role to play in the development of their nations, it is also important that the people in it, the citizens, you are and I should have a role to play, remember the saying “do not think of what America will do for you but what you can do for America” so unleash yourself brake those chains of mental slavery that makes you think that you cannot succeed because your government has failed, open your eyes to see opportunities around you, you can create something out of nothing when you put your mind to it. Let me now explain some of the major reasons why many fail-
