Excerpt from Lost Angel "I really have no idea what is going on in this enigmatic man's mind. All I know is that I'm falling for him more and more every day, despite his unpredictable behavior. But I also feel him gradually pulling me deeper and deeper into a dark abyss that there is no escape from..."   Literature student, July Vermont, is swept off her feet when she meets attractive English professor, David Kennedy, for the first time. Kennedy is tall, attractive and a complete heart-throb. And although he doesn't seem particularly interested in July, she immediately feels an almost magical force of attraction toward him.   She can't stop falling in love with the professor everyone wants, even though she knows she doesn't have a chance with him and she is risking her scholarship and her future. Kennedy awakes a deep, inexplicable desire in her that leaves her completely in his power and makes her forget all her principles. She desperately wants to get to know him better, never guessing that he has a dark secret that will change her life forever...

Lost Angel (Excerpt)

“Is there something going on between you and Stewart?” June asks eagerly, when we are sitting on the dorm steps a few days later, enjoying the cool evening air.

“We’re doing the rounds,” I reply with a smile. “A half-hour run, every day – before breakfast!”

June's eyes go wide. “For real?”

I can't help laughing. “Yes, we run three miles together, every morning.”

June nudges me conspiratorially. “Hey, I really thought you had something going on with Stu, and weren't telling me.”

“Don't worry, we're just running buddies,” I tell her, so convincingly that I almost believe it myself.

“I hope he understands that as well,” June says sceptically, while she wraps a lock of her blonde hair round a finger. “Have you seen the new English professor yet?” she says, changing the subject.

I shake my head. “All I know is that Professor Hoover has left Stanford and somebody else has taken over teaching English Literature. I've no idea who it is, I haven't met him yet,” I say.

“Well you've missed out on something,” June replies with a grin. “They say Kennedy is hot.”

I flinch when I hear the name Kennedy, an uneasy feeling growing in my belly. I have no idea why my body is reacting to the name like this, and I try to hide my unease from June. “I think it's a shame Professor Hoover is leaving Stanford. I got on well with him and his lectures on Shakespeare's comedies were really funny.”

June smiles. “All you're thinking about is your studies, right?”

“Of course, that's why I'm here,” I reply, simply stating the obvious as far as I'm concerned.

“Have you ever been in love, July?” she suddenly asks, her earnest eyes looking into mine.
