Beschreibung

Over the last 30 years, the Inforum approach to macro modelling has been shared by economists worldwide. Researchers have focussed much of their efforts to developing a linked system of international interindustry models with a consistent methodology. A world-wide network of research associates use the same methods and software obtaining comparable results. The XXth Inforum World Conference was held in Florence in September 2012 and this book contains a selection of papers presented during that Conference. All these contributions are aimed at policymakers, stakeholders, and applied economists. Some papers are devoted to specific topics (total factor productivity, energy issues, external linkages, demographic changes) and some others are oriented to macro model building and simulations. Rossella Bardazzi is associate professor of Macroeconomics at the School of Political Sciences “Cesare Alfieri” of the University of Florence, Italy. She has been working with the INFORUM Italian team since her Ph.D. thesis in the early Ninety’s and she has been visiting researcher at Inforum, University of Maryland, several times during these years. Her research topics include indirect taxation in multisectoral models, household consumption, environmental policies. More recently, beside multisectoral modelling, her research interests lie in microsimulation modelling for enterprises, fiscal policies and green taxes.Leonardo Ghezzi is a senior economist at IRPET, the Regional Institute for Economic Planning of Tuscany (Italy). He holds a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Pisa, and a B.A. in Political Sciences from the Florence University. He joined Inforum network in 2008 and he is currently a member of the Italian Inforum team. He has been a visiting researcher at Inforum, University of Maryland in 2011 and 2012 to starting the project of the multiregional-multisectoral model DANTE (Dynamic Analysis of the National and Tuscan Economy) currently implemented and running at IRPET. His research topics include international economics, multiregional structural economic changes, competitiveness analysis of regional economy. He has also a solid experience in microsimulation modeling for taxation analysis.
