Cordet Bag Pattern

Materials:

Jack Frost Cordet—5 75-yd. Tubes

Interchangeable with Soutache or Kordette

Size 4 White Crochet Hook

BASE—Ch 3, join with a sl st to form a ring. Row 1—Ch 1, work 6 s c in ring, join with a sl st in the ch 1. Row 2— Ch 1, turn. Taking back loop only, work 1 s c in the sl st of previous row, * 3 s c in next st, 1 s c in next st; repeat from * twice, ending with 1 s c in next st and 1 s c into the ch st. Row 3—Ch 1, turn, work 1 s c into each of the first 4 sts, 3 s c in next st (always increase in the center st of the 3 s c group of previous row), * 1 s c in each of next 3 s c, 3 s c in next st, repeat from * once ending with 1 s c in each of next 4 s c and 1 s c in the ch 1 (there will always be 2 more sts at the end of every row than there are between increases). Continue working as described above, increasing at each corner, until 15 rows in all have been made; then work as follows: * 1 s c in each of first 7 sts, skip 2 sts, 1 s c in each of next 7 sts, 3 s c in next st; repeat from * for 1 round. Join with a sl st, ch 1, turn. Repeat the last row, increasing over an increase and decreasing over a decrease, until 5 rows have been made, then work in d c increasing and decreasing as described above, to desired height.

DRAWSTRING—Make a ch 1 yd. long. Work 1 sl st into each ch st, join with a sl st. Make a corresponding piece. Draw through top of bag. Fasten rings to top of each drawstring.

Cordet Bag Pattern

Size 5 White Crochet Hook

CIRCLE—Ch 5, join with a sl st to form a ring. Row 1—Work 6 s c in ring. Row 2—Work 2 s c in each st. Row 3—* Work 1 s c in first st, 2 s c in next st; repeat from * 5 times. Continue in­creasing 6 sts on every row as described above, until circle meas­ures 6 in. in diameter. Work 1 row of s c around circle, taking front loop to form a ridge on the inside of bag. Work 6 rows of s c, st for st around circle, ending with a sl st.
