Through her portal, Thoresen enters the higher spiritual worlds, where he receives teaching on the true mission of the human being. Meeting Michael brings to culmination the trilogy that began with Travels on the Northern Path of Initiation (2021) and Encounters with Vidar (2022).

Foreword

This book is a continuation of my previous publication Encounters with Vidar (2022), which in turn was a sequel to my book Travels on the Northern Path of Initiation (2021). In these volumes, I described how, during a period of intense fatigue after having caught Covid-19, I traversed all three realms of the elemental world, eventually reaching what I call the ‘outer realm’ of the etheric.

In Travels on the Northern Path of Initiation, I journeyed into the elemental world, through the third (luciferic), the second (ahrimanic) and first (azuric) realms of the elemental world, up to the threshold of the outer ethe-ric. In between the first elemental realm and the outer etheric world, I was met by the guardian of the threshold, who introduced himself as Vidar. Vidar in turn introduced me to his colleague, Balder. Vidar teaches us what we as individuals need to know in order to travel further into the outer etheric world, where the presence of Christ may be found. In Encounters with Vidar, I expanded upon the teachings I received from Vidar and Balder. I also tried to address some of the mistakes we can make today as seekers of the spirit.

I wrote the above books at the same time as these spiritual journeys, conversations and teachings were taking place. That is why the contents may sometimes appear piecemeal and have the character of a diary. In reality, these writings represent ongoing research and investigation.

In the final volume of this trilogy, I take the reader further into spirit worlds – all the way into the devachanic region, where we will meet the spiritual entities that dwell there. The first entity that introduced himself to me had a threefold name, Serat–Saturn–Scythianus. This being directed me to a different path than the one that I had, up until now, been following.

The path Vidar showed me was through the mysteries of the spirit, the spiritual world. Now ‘S’ (as I will call ‘him’) directed me to the mysteries of the earth. As I say, this was a totally different path, but one that would turn out to be even more ‘spiritual’. Through this path, through the mysteries of the earth (and physical body), I was introduced to Ymir, the old spirit of the earth itself, who existed before Ancient Saturn. Ymir showed me her twelve layers, and in the seventh layer I met Anna (the mother of Mary and the grandmother of Jesus), who turned out to be the portal between physical creation and the higher spiritual world, Devachan. Anna is a cosmic being, who facilitated Mary’s entrance to this world, giving the possibility for Jesus to incarnate, who in turn gave the Christ being the ability to incarnate. Anna is the guardian between the earth mysteries and Devachan, and is the female aspect of the spiritual path into Devachan.

All this was known, apparently, in the School of Chartres. Dominating the northern wall (the feminine direction) of this magnificent cathedral – which is based on the mysteries of the feminine – and overlooking everybody that enters or leaves, is the guardian or gatekeeper, Anna. This tells us a lot.

Through the spiritual portal provided by Anna, I was able to enter Devachan, a higher spiritual world that has been in existence before Ancient Saturn, and which will exist after Vulcan. In the devachanic world, the true mission of the human being is revealed. This book will describe my journey to the devachanic world. Also, I will discuss the Michael path compared to the Vidar path, and the ‘spiritual mystery path’ compared to the ‘earthly mystery path’. I will also speak about my meetings with beings named Ariel and Makuk. Finally, I engage in a ‘conversation’ with the Antichrist and explore the realms of Michael, our ‘Time Spirit’ or ‘Time Archai’.

In ending this introduction, I would like to address a question I have been asked: How can one be sure that the identity presented by different spiritual beings is the true one? What if adversarial entities try to lead one astray by pretending that they are good or beneficial to humankind? I once asked this same question to a priest of The Christian Community in Stuttgart. He answered that this was quite easy and simple. If we meet a spiritual entity and ask its name, it has to reveal the truth. The priest added that if the name was of an adversarial being, one could even smell sulphur as it disappeared!

Each time I have asked spiritual beings their names, I am quite convinced that they have answered truthfully – both the beneficial and the adversarial beings. It seems that there is a law in the spiritual world that applies to all entities, that when asked their true name, they must reveal it. Concerning many other laws and rules, the adversarial entities follow different ones to those of the good spiritual beings, and this includes the demonic, ahrimanic, luciferic and azuric beings.

With this book, I am once again inviting you to share the observations and reports of my current research. I thank you for following me and taking part – through your own consciousness – in these thoughts and ideas. Many of these findings are still in the process of ‘becoming’. Thus, the contents are not intended as fixed teachings, new dogmas or beliefs, but are brought forth in the spirit of open, spiritual-scientific exploration and discovery. They may yet need to be modified in future.

I also ask the reader to bear in mind that English is not my mother tongue. Whilst I am grateful to my Editor at Temple Lodge Publishing for his patient help with grammar and composition, it should be remembered that I am translating metaphysical experiences not only into human language, but also into another language. Nevertheless, as author I take responsibility for any errors that remain.

My Lecture Tour in the USA

After the publication of my second book on Vidar (Encounters with Vidar), I was invited to lecture in several different locations in the USA and Canada during the month of August 2022. I was to get the first indications that this tour would be significant when I arrived at the airport in Norway in the last days of July. I carried my Covid-19 certificate – I had been infected with the virus several times and had high levels of antibodies in my blood, in addition to a single shot of the vaccine. The lecture tour was planned, all the preparations were made and all the tickets were sold.

But then I was stopped at the gate. Only fully-vaccinated persons were allowed to travel to Canada and/or the USA, I was told. Thus, I was forced to travel home, where I called the organizers of the tour in North America to inform them that I would not be coming after all. They were shocked, as was I! I did not know what to do, and went to bed.

Early the next morning I got up and looked again at my health documents to ponder on what to do. During the night something remarkable had happened. Somehow, the page had been changed. I had ‘received’ two further vaccinations, dated in time to allow me to travel. So, I was suddenly free to go. I just had to jump on a plane, where I was welcomed by the American and Canadian authorities.

I have described in some of my books how elemental beings are able to make changes in the physical world, should this be necessary. Such ‘operations’ are referred to in many places (and sometimes related to the activity of a special group of elemental beings, ‘poltergeists’). I have witnessed their actions previously, so this was nothing new to me. I just accepted that they wanted me to go to the USA – that I was needed there. So, after buying new tickets for the first and last flight of the tour, I began my journey again, delayed only by two days.

The main topic and subject of my teaching during this tour was how the whole elemental world longed for – wanted and needed – human beings to become aware of them; to respect their activity and, most importantly, bring the consciousness of Christ into the elemental world. This was so that these beings could be redeemed, saved and thoroughly Christianized. Clearly, these beings needed me to conduct this lecture tour!

I lectured about the transformation of elemental beings through Christ, in disease, agriculture and in technical devices. I spoke in the following places: Toronto, Calgary, Fairbanks, Chicago, Detroit, Ann Arbor, Philadelphia, Kimberton, Chestnut Ridge, Ghent, Wilton and Boston. Everywhere, I was welcomed heartily and thanked for bringing such news, views and techniques to the listening audiences. By bringing these insights to so many people and places, my own relationship to the spiritual world also began to change.

As long as I was travelling, meeting new people every day, sleeping in new rooms almost every night, giving lectures almost every day – often twice a day – I became so tired that the strength of my communications with Vidar or the etheric world were diminished. The exception was in Boston, when the folks that owned the house in which I was staying asked me to help with their tree that had become diseased. Could I ask the tree’s elemental being what sort of medicine or treatment it needed?

The answer came over three days (although by the third day I had already left for further travels). On the first day I received an Imagination, which showed a flow of water that was a bit more blue-green than usual. On the second day I received an Inspiration, communicating that the blue-green colour was because of the copper content. On the third day I received the complete information, i.e. that they should spray the tree with a 0.02% copper solution. The woman of the house told me that they had already considered that.

For the first week after I returned home, whilst recovering from my travels, spiritual communications were absent. But then, about a week after I had arrived, and as the worst of the tiredness had subsided, something new appeared. For the first time in six weeks, I travelled to the threshold of Vidar and beyond. There, the ‘outer etheric realm’ was suddenly populated with higher angelic beings, and not just with unknown entities, as previously. These higher angelic beings were of the second hierarchy of Angels, known in olden times as Exusiai, Dynamis and Kyriotetes (or, in Western esoteric language, Powers, Virtues and Dominions). I knew intuitively that they were of this rank.

These angelic entities were just to be observed on the first day, and their presence even coloured the normal, physical clouds (which can be observed in the ‘material’ sky) in red and green. The same day as these manifestations appeared to me, some of my patients also mentioned that they perceived such colours as they were receiving treatment.

Later that day, I read in a book by Harrie Salman∗ in which he speaks about the First Class lessons conducted by Rudolf Steiner in February 1924. As he describes, Steiner’s students in meditation and initiation would first meet the lesser guardian of the threshold, who indicates three hindrances to stepping over the threshold: fear of the spiritual, mocking the spiritual , and laziness in our thinking. Only our courage to understand, our fiery will to see and the work of our will could ‘open the door so that we can enter the spiritual temple’. We are then led to the greater guardian, which is related to Christ. This way also leads us to the middle of our heart, to a transformation of our feelings (Sophia) and also to a transformation of our higher ‘I’, and as ‘a Michaelic path of knowledge to a higher consciousness … To a culture characterized by love, to a transformation of evil to something good’, as described in the Manichean way of life and initiation.

This path, that is called the Manichean way of initiation, is the same path taken by Parsifal, who actually was Mani or Manu, and according to Steiner, this Mani will become the Manu (great leader) of the next time cycle, beginning after the seventh cultural age of this present fifth cycle, the post-Atlantean epoch. This path is the same as the one I describe in my book Travels on the Northern Path of Initiation. The turning point in Parsifal’s path was when he ‘faded’ three times into the three drops of blood in the snow. Before that, his life had been full of problems and mistakes, and his path was diffuse and difficult. Suddenly, after having faded three times into the three drops of blood, the path suddenly became clear, and he found the way to King Arthur and later the Grail King. This ‘fading-method’ is exactly the one I describe in my book, and also the one that Rudolf Steiner referred to in Helsinki on 3 April 1912.∗

According to Harrie Salman, the Templars were also a branch of the Manichean stream. In taking a closer look at the initiation practices of the Templars, as described by Judith von Halle in her two-volume book Die Templer (‘The Templars’) – where she describes their methods in detail – I started to see a certain similarity to my own training. Von Halle says that the Templars had found a special stone in the Pyrenees that expressed the ‘I’-force or consciousness of the earth, and on which they placed their fingertips. Through this method, they encountered the etheric soul of the earth and the whole cosmos. This technique is almost exactly the same as I describe in my books. In using the fingertips placed in connection with the blood (pulse), I am able to come in contact with the whole body of the patient – even his family and surroundings. Thus, through the blood I am enabled to make a diagnosis (‘spiritual pulse-diagnosis’).†

Thus, the two pathways into the spiritual world or elemental world I have found and extensively practised in my life – the ‘fading’ method and the ‘fingertip’ method – can both be characterized as being inspired by, or as a part of, the Manichean way of initiation, at least according to the book quoted above. The only main difference is that it is now Vidar, and not Michael, that is the Archangel acting as the guardian of the threshold. This is due to Michael’s current position as an Archai (Principality), which we will refer to later in this book. This Manichean stream manifested itself in the Cathar movement in France, the Bogomil movement in Bulgaria, the Knights Templar, as well as in anthroposophy and in the White Brotherhood founded by Peter Deunov.
