Organic poultry farming

In this practice flock size is smaller than in conventional farming. Birds are housed in small movable units which can be moved around the farm as integral part of the farm. But static shed system are also allowed. Free range system can be used also it gives room for easy access to pasture and is source of exercise for the chicken.

Why farm organically

Organic farming is a strong niche market supported by socioeconomic and environmental factors and people need to eat healthy and live long plus there is no issue of drug and antimicrobial resistance and the produce (meat) is more palatable. It ensure availability for chemical free food products and may also provide if not a permanent solution a long lasting solution to problem of global warming.

Effective management process

In organic farming proper management ensures good result right from day 1. the management includes proper cleaning of the pen house, before arrival, and, bio security, proper brooding and feeding after arrival of chicks.

Measures and recording method should be put on ground before even starting putting in mind that it's albout prevention in the organic farm. Herbs like garlic can be planted in the surrounding to ward of pest.

Brooding

In this practice brooding is done with or without the use of heat it is done using brooding box. Brooding boxes key to success as it helps regulate body temperature of birds efficiently. It's better to use heat source that can be regulated when need be and that can be used in absence of electricity like solar powers bulbs or rechargeable bulbs.

All above mentioned management area should be well taken care of before arrival of chicks. Tools/equipment like scale, processing machine, thermometer, bulbls because just like humans birds require light as it helps them with feeding at night.

Materials that need to be on ground before arrival of chicks

Clean environment using vinegar

Remove spider web

Herbs (ginger,garlic,bitter leaf and neem boil all in water let it         simmer drain it to get your herbal extract)

Lightening

Litter preferably wood shavings and not saw dust

Make sure to source all input from organic store or farm.
