WHY I AM WRITING THIS BOOK

The simple answer to why I am writing this book is because God asked me to. The better question is why the Lord asked me to undertake this project. I should tell you that when He asked me to write the book, He didn’t explain why; He only said that He would help and that we would do it together. So even though I felt ill-equipped to undertake this challenge, I readily agreed, as I have come to love doing things with the Lord. Now the project is essentially finished, and the Lord has unfolded the reasons he wanted to write this book.

First, I would start by saying I think there are many reasons behind the Lord's plan and purposes for writing this book. What I have come to understand after many years, too many years, is that the Lord just enjoys having a good time and working with me. Writing this book has been joy-filled, without stress, and a lot of fun. It has also caused me to look back at how the Lord led me and prepared me so that we could write this book together. I am amazed at how the Lord has used my successes and failures to prepare me for this specific time in history.

This is a time when all business executives are faced with making critical decisions for the continued success or failure of the business for which they are responsible. The Lord showed me that this book is a free gift, a way to new levels of success that can exceed your wildest expectations. To receive this gift, all you have to do is accept it and apply yourself to the AI strategy I have outlined. That’s right, there are no strings attached; it is just a simple gift from a God who loves you. You might be asking, “Why would God want to give such a great and valuable gift to those who are already successful and already have an abundance?” That is simple: because He loves you and wants to. I believe it is His way of saying to all who read this book that you have been chosen and that He hopes you will choose to get to know Him and develop a relationship with Him that will last for eternity. Whatever you decide to do, you can consider yourself special and precious in the eyes of the Lord.

I will give you a short version of how the Lord brought me to the point of writing this book and exposing myself in a way that many might describe as delusional and off the wall. First, in February 2023, the Lord gave me a revelation that has changed me forever. I was reading a book by Jack Deere, and it said that Jesus, who was fully God and fully man, needed to regularly get away with the Father to accomplish His ministry. Now I knew that Jesus got away in private with the Father, but I never gave much thought to why. After thinking about it, I know it was because they enjoyed each other’s fellowship and were working together to fulfill God’s plan of salvation. A little later, Jack Deere asks this question: If Jesus, fully God and fully man, needed to regularly get away with the Father, how much more important is it for us mere mortals? Now, with over 50 years of experience as a Christian, you would not think this would be some great revelation, right? As I think about it now, I might agree. However, when I look around, I wonder why more Christians don't prioritize getting away with the Lord as part of their daily routine.

Now that I have received this revelation, I have decided to literally make it part of my walk with the Lord. I say “literally” because just about every day I take a long walk of between 4 and 5.5 miles, and I use that walk to just be with the Lord and talk to Him. We talk as friends, and when I start my walk, I don’t really have an agenda; we end up talking about everything under the sun, from investing to world affairs to church and even about the Kingdom of God. I have found that the Lord asks a bunch of questions, and sometimes they focus on investing. I had just bought 7,000 shares of Palantir right before the God walks started. Some months later, the Lord began to ask me a bunch of questions about Palantir. As a result of His probing questions, I ended up refining my decision and investment models, which is a continual process.

So, after nine months of studying Palantir and discussing it with the Lord, it was November of 2023, and Palantir provided its 3rd quarter earnings release. What I noticed in the earnings presentation is that the first chart following the title and disclaimer charts was a chart in big bold letters that said, “Palantir stands with Israel.” Their AIP story was highlighted, as were the Boot Camps, which had just started. They had a tiny profit and modest revenue growth of 17%. While the earnings release was very good and the commercial segment was growing at 33%, there was nothing in the report that said this is the stock to “bet the farm” on.

Shortly after the earnings release, it was raining, and my daily walk with the Lord was canceled. So I took the Lord to Planet Fitness to use the elliptical and treadmill. This is the day when the Lord would intervene in my life in a way that would change me forever, just like the Jack Deere revelation did. As I am exercising on the elliptical machine, I am talking to the Lord with my eyes closed, and I get a vision where I am sitting by Elisha, who is on his deathbed. Next, I see the arrows flying out the window and the King of Israel striking them three times. I knew from Scripture that the King didn’t strike them enough and actually doomed Israel. Somehow, I knew right away this was about Palantir and that I should buy some right away. So, while trying to balance on the elliptical, I pick up my phone and buy 1,000 shares. Feeling I didn’t strike the arrows enough, I would on three more occasions buy another 1,000 shares for a total of 4,000 shares before finishing my exercise.

Now I would just like to go on record and say nothing like this has ever happened before. I got off the elliptical and made my way over to the treadmill, muttering to the Lord about what had just happened. Did that really just happen, or did I imagine the entire thing? I got on the treadmill while still talking to the Lord about what happened, and BAM, I got another vision. There is a little guy who looks like a cartoon character sitting with dirt strewn all over, and in the middle of the dirt is this huge jewel that is bigger than a football but shaped like a huge multicolored diamond. Before the Lord could say a word, I blurted out that the Lord is the Jewel and that I would sell all for him. So much for political correctness, and I could sense He was not pleased with my outburst. Finally, I hear, “You do know what I am trying to show you, right?” I sheepishly answer Yes, Lord. We both knew when I saw the vision, I immediately knew what he was showing me and that I had not been honest with him.

The Jewel vision would propel me to continue to build a big position in Palantir. By May of 2023, I had accumulated a large position and currently have a return of over 900%. It is the jewel that has allowed me to be at peace and hold through periods of volatility. The Lord gave me this jewel, and I am very thankful for it. However, what I am most thankful for is the “Jack Deere” revelation, where I learned to just walk with the Lord as friends, without an agenda of my own, and see where it takes me.

Well, it took me here to write this book. What I have come to understand is that the Lord wanted me to give the same “Jewel” He gave me to others. The Jewel is Palantir, whom God has blessed, for He blesses those who bless Israel. This gift from God is a huge Jewel that is an AI strategy for your enterprise that only Palantir can deliver. The Lord has helped me to understand how to show you how you can use this Jewel to do great things for your business. I think when he gave me the visions, it wasn’t just to give me a great gift so that I could enrich myself, but so I could give the gift to others to help them be wildly successful. Now I am sure he is eternally hopeful that after reading the book, you will choose to befriend him and join him for eternity, which is the greatest jewel of all.

Anyway, now you know why I am on a mission from God and that my desire is for your success in this world and the next. God bless, kick some butt in the market, and make friends with Him who knows all things.

AVOIDING THE PITFALLS OF AI

SUMMARY OF THE AXIOS ARTICLE

A new MIT Sloan Management Review study, as reported in an August 21, 2025, Axios article by Madison Mills, analyzed 300 public AI initiatives and found that 95% of organizations achieved zero return on their AI investments, despite spending $30 billion to $40 billion on generative AI. There is little evidence of broad operational disruption or productivity gains, challenging AI's hype as a transformative force. The article highlights Wall Street’s growing concerns over Big Tech’s massive AI spending, drawing parallels to the dot-com era, and questions whether corporations can pivot to best practices, like focusing AI on high-impact areas, to restore investor confidence amid market volatility.

WHY ENTERPRISES AREN’T GETTING ROI FROM AI TRIALS

The MIT study identifies several reasons for the widespread failure of AI pilots to deliver measurable returns, emphasizing execution flaws over technology limitations. Here’s a breakdown of the key factors:

Overall, the article argues that success hinges on pragmatic adoption—buying tools, targeting ROI hotspots, and measuring rigorously—rather than chasing flashy, untested innovations. If enterprises don’t adapt, it could trigger a market reckoning similar to past tech hype cycles.

A STUDY BY THE HARVARD BUSINESS REVIEW

The Harvard Business Review article “AI-Generated 'Workslop' Is Destroying Productivity,” published on September 22, 2025 (updated September 25), explores a paradox in generative AI adoption: despite widespread use in workplaces—with AI-led processes nearly doubling last year and overall AI usage doubling since 2023—95% of organizations report no measurable return on investment (ROI), according to an MIT Media Lab report. The authors, from BetterUp Labs and Stanford, introduce the concept of "workslop": AI-generated content that appears professional and polished (e.g., formatted slides, reports, summaries, or code) but lacks depth, accuracy, or context, effectively shifting cognitive effort to recipients who must interpret, correct, or redo it.

Based on a survey of 1,150 U.S. full-time employees:

40% received workslop in the past month, estimating it makes up 15.4% of the work content.It occurs mostly between peers (40%), but also from reports to managers (18%) or from managers to teams (16%).Industries like professional services and technology are the hardest hit.

The “workslop tax” includes:

Productivity costs: Each instance requires an average of 1 hour and 56 minutes of rework, equating to $186 per employee per month in lost time—or over $9 million annually for a 10,000-person organization.

Emotional and social costs: Recipients feel annoyed (53%), confused (38%), or offended (22%). It erodes perceptions of the sender's creativity, capability, and reliability (50%), trustworthiness (42%), and intelligence (37%). 32% are less likely to collaborate with the sender again, and 34% report incidents to others, damaging team trust.

Interpersonal impacts: Echoes research on a "competence penalty" for AI use, where people (especially women) are seen as less competent.

Examples include finance workers debating rewrites, tech managers clarifying confusing emails, and retail directors verifying and redoing research.

The article argues that “workslop” stems from old habits like procrastination, amplified by AI, but it uniquely offloads work to humans rather than machines. It contrasts with historical cognitive offloading (e.g., Google searches) by creating downstream burdens.

HOW BUSINESSES ARE FAILING TO IMPLEMENT AI SUCCESSFULLY

The article highlights several ways businesses are stumbling in AI implementation, leading to low ROI despite high adoption.

Indiscriminate Mandates and Lack of Discernment: Leaders often push blanket AI adoption ("use AI everywhere") without guidance on when or how it's appropriate. This encourages thoughtless use, such as copying AI outputs without customization, even for tasks requiring human nuance. AI excels at polishing but can't handle ambiguity or context without input, resulting in superficial work that doesn't advance goals.Insufficient Policies and Norms: Organizations fail to establish clear standards for AI quality, tools, or best practices. This “passes the buck” to employees, who may use AI as a shortcut rather than a tool, fostering low-effort habits at scale.Mindset Gaps Among Employees: Research shows that “passengers” (low agency and optimism) use AI to avoid work, while “pilots” (high agency and optimism) use it purposefully to boost creativity. Businesses aren't cultivating pilot mindsets, leading to more workslop from passive users.Undermining Collaboration: AI introduces new dynamics where poor outputs strain human interactions. Leaders overlook how AI-human workflows affect shared outcomes, allowing workslop to erode trust, collaboration, and organizational citizenship—key for successful AI integration.Ignoring Hidden Costs: Companies focus on activity metrics (e.g., AI usage rates) rather than outcomes, missing the productivity drain, emotional toll, and long-term collaboration erosion. This perpetuates a cycle of enthusiasm without value.

To succeed, the authors recommend that leaders model purposeful AI use, set guardrails, promote a pilot mindset, and treat AI as a collaborative enhancer—not a replacement—while upholding high standards for all work.

AN EXECUTIVE’S GUIDE TO LEADING YOUR BUSINESS'S AI STRATEGY

This book is designed to give you an AI strategy and equip you to lead and transform your business, providing you with a game-changing competitive edge. This book is not targeted at the super techie crowd but at the executive team that needs an AI strategy they can conceptually understand and readily relate to their business operations.

Today, every executive team must explore an AI strategy, especially publicly traded companies. Many executive teams do not feel equipped to lead such an effort and task their IT leaders with developing their AI strategy. This is a huge mistake and one that is doomed to failure. Most AI trials to date are costly and fail as IT leaders try to figure out how to leverage this new technology.

This book makes two arguments. The first argument is that the most qualified people to lead the organization in this AI revolution are those in the C-suite. Understand this: there’s no better chance to transform your organization, boost your financial metrics, and gain a strong edge over the competition. What is more important to your business? This book not only makes this argument, but it also equips you to lead your organization into a new era of success and sustainability.

The second argument this book makes is that right now, there is only one surefire way to leverage AI to produce the dramatic productivity gains required to improve your financial results. This is achieved by taking your current “Business Operating System,” which is “how you do things today,” and optimizing it. Your “Operating System” is made up of the people, data sources, processes, backup plans, reports, business intelligence, partners, suppliers, and customers. This book equips you to lead your team to organize, optimize, orchestrate, and automate “how you do things today” in every area of your business. You will be able to predict and anticipate problems and execute solutions before the problems even arise. The executive team knows how it wants to run the business. A Business Operating System using AI maps “how you do things today” and provides the right data from disparate systems, programs, and platforms to the right people while automating many steps within the process. The end result is that, with significantly fewer resources, you can predict problems and have executable solution alternatives right at your fingertips.

Currently, there is only one company that provides an AI Business OS, and that company is Palantir. They have been in the Business OS business at least since 2016, as we discuss in detail with their relationship with Airbus and their Skywise program. They added AI to the Business OS in April 2023 as a way to leverage AI in areas where it performs exceedingly well. The Palantir method integrates its system over existing IT infrastructures, processes, and human resources, allowing for seamless mapping, organization, optimization, orchestration, and automation. We illustrate its functionality and present a plethora of “Use Cases” that deliver substantial ROI and quick paybacks, significantly boosting your financial performance. This is all accomplished with the highest security standards of any company in the industry due to their extensive work with the US Government protecting access to all levels of classified information.

The objectives of this book are to help you understand that your business already has an operating system in place and that your current system can be exponentially improved. Next, we want to introduce you to an AI Business Operating System and demonstrate how it is far superior. Once you understand how an AI Business Operating System works, we hope that you will consider your current business operations and think about areas that can be improved. This section will give you a basic understanding of the tools that will enable you to have an AI-Enhanced Operating System that produces great improvements in efficiency and effectiveness. These tools will help you predict problems and implement solutions, automating many tasks while leveraging your existing data systems, business intelligence, and the skills of your people.

Business leaders need a basic understanding of Palantir AI Business OS in order to prioritize and organize plans and teams around Business/Use Cases to automate, organize, and orchestrate how their business runs.

This section is intended to give you the conceptual understanding, while Section 2 provides examples of how it works and how AI can be scaled across the enterprise.

C-SUITE MUST LEAD AI STRATEGY FOR THE BUSINESS

CEOs, presidents, and the executive leadership team must learn quickly in this AI age or risk being noncompetitive and left behind. This book is written for you. It is to teach and coach you on how to lead and take advantage of the fast-paced AI revolution that is upon us. Many of those in the C-Suite and leadership positions may feel inadequate or unskilled to lead in making decisions that they view as technical or IT-related. Nothing could be further from the truth.

Most executive teams do not understand or even think about the operating system for the business. While each business has an operating system, for the most part, those operating systems are made up of disparate systems, operations, people, and processes. Businesses have made IT investments to facilitate their operations, but unfortunately, the ROI associated with these investments is usually poor. When you consider the massive resources and time to implement IT Systems versus the business benefit, the ROI looks even worse.

While each company has an operating system, most are informal, disjointed, and orchestrated uniquely in different parts of the organization. Even the best-run businesses have operating systems that are extremely suboptimized, and that will eventually put your company at risk and endanger your competitive edge. The good news is that you are reading this book, and you will be equipped to lead your business to new heights by implementing a cohesive, efficient, and effective AI Business OS. Your new AI Business OS can be implemented in stages without requiring you to change your existing IT infrastructure.

Before we go into a deep dive, I want to explain that there are a lot of things that I will discuss that may sound like a sales pitch. I assure you that is not the case, though I will discuss the offerings by Palantir. While the concept of an AI Business OS is new, currently, Palantir is the only company in the market that provides an AI Business OS. While I do own stock in Palantir, as previously discussed, I have no other connections with the company. The only thing I am selling today is a vision, strategy, and a plan to help you lead your business to not only survive but to thrive in the AI revolution. Before we start getting into the details, I want you to expect the following once you get started:

Speed: You will be amazed at how quickly you will be able to implement an AI Business OS and optimize your business.

Immediate Results: You will be able to start optimizing your business right away by building use/business cases within a week at a Palantir Boot Camp. Your team will be able to implement the use case in a matter of weeks or months. You will see enormous leaps in productivity that will blow you away.

You will be able to transform not only the operations of your company, but you will also enhance the value of your employees and unleash creativity that will lead to continued innovation, operational efficiency, and operational efficiency and effectiveness.

Using the Business/Use Case structure to create super-enhanced productivity, you will be able to reduce costs, improve margins, increase speed to market, and enhance customer and vendor relationships that are best in class for your industry.

Your AI-Enhanced Operating System will be your biggest competitive advantage. Your company will be worth more, and you will have a stronger “moat.” Your rate of innovation will allow you to deliver new products, capabilities, and features to your customers well ahead of the competition. The valuation multiple for your business can be 2 to 5 times higher than the competition due to better margins, EBITDA, FCF, growth, etc. If you hope to sell your business in the future, this is great news. If you are focused on growth and expanding your business, you will be able to buy businesses that complement your business, which have low multiples, and make them more valuable quickly with your AI Business OS.

The speed of the AI Revolution is moving faster than any previous technological change in the past. I hope that after reading this book, you will conclude that there isn’t anything more important for you to do than jump in and get started right away. Unfortunately, failure to act and to lead your business in this AI Revolution does not bode well and may result in value destruction for your business. I pray this book will help you make good decisions and avoid the pitfalls of inaction.

OVERVIEW AI BUSINESS OS

It is now August 25, 2025, and Palantir has skyrocketed into the stratosphere and is one of the most covered companies in the world. They are well known for how they enable Western militaries to execute at high levels on the battlefield, but little has been understood about their commercial offerings. In fact, retail investors understood Palantir better than professional investors until just recently. Even now, the institutional community struggles to adequately explain or understand what exactly Palantir offers customers. Thus, they fail to fully appreciate the true value of Palantir.

I have studied and researched Palantir since February 2023. Initially, I studied the company from an investment perspective. I struggled to fully understand and appreciate what exactly they did, but I could see the great success they were having with large commercial customers. Since I had a very large position, I continued to study the company, especially its commercial offerings. After two and a half years, I think I finally have an understanding that I can explain in terms that will help top-level executives see that this is the only AI strategy that is guaranteed to work and can be scaled across the enterprise.

In 2016, Palantir introduced the first-ever Business Operating System. They called this Operating System “Foundry,” and it included a key component called “Ontology.” Now, Palantir did not call this offer a Business Operating System when they introduced Foundry. There wasn’t any such thing as a Business Operating System, and I don’t even know if Palantir considered their offering in this way. Palantir has been known as a data analytics company, and its offering was referred to as a “black box.” When you combine data analytics in a black box, there is bound to be confusion around what exactly it does.
