Fell to the floor,

Bang, bang the gun is exploding,

Sat in a car crash,

She’s dressed in pink,

Laid in a cargo hold,

When the man gave his wink,

No other reason,

The man’s speaking Latin,

The man thinks he’s brave,

Too long for the bed, he’s been put in,

No longer a man of slaves,

Looking into the heart of Memphis,

Bang, Bang don’t look away,

Dream of children’s freedom

Knew he wouldn’t see the day,

Daddy’s just been a planning,

Daddies gonna stay,

Don’t read the book of the deluded,

That hides on a cold winters day,

The Christmas bells are ringing,

I ask, what are they ringing for?

There’s no peace we can speak of,

Only hate and war,

The mistletoe is hanging,

I ask who wants to kiss?

When a handshake can cause trouble,

And a kind word causes grief,

Christmas: ain’t what it used be,

Christmas: ain’t for peace,

Christmas: ain’t what it used be,

Christmas: ain’t for families,

The tree is left standing,

I ask, what is it standing for,

The presents that lay under,

Don’t mean what they meant before,

The cards upon the mantle,

I ask, who are they written by,

When the only fires that burn under,

Are the ones for who have died,

There are those who will go hungry,
