Foreword

(Sentiments from my Christian Sister:)

**************

Years ago, I received a profound vision from YHVH that inspired the cover of this book, dedicated to Debra and her ministry. The artwork beautifully captures her essence as the bride of Yeshua, gracefully walking this earth. Souls are naturally drawn to her as she moves and sings, bringing glory to our extraordinary Heavenly Father. They find hope and inspiration in the gospel, and she spreads a radiant light for all. The anointed words I imparted to her during the creation of this drawing are meant to be shared, offering you unique insights that can transform lives.

My love for my Creator has enriched my faith journey since I was just 10 years old. I invite you to visit my new website for 2025, linked below, to explore the passions that Yeshua has ignited in me for this critical time. My experiences have been remarkable, as God continually blesses me with His presence. I hold dear the truth that I am a child of the Most High. The invitation to embrace Him fully is an extraordinary gift awaiting everyone.

Preface

I have had a desire to sing since I was a teenager when Beatlemania was in full force in the sixties. I couldn’t wait for the next Beatles album to come out! I was fortunate enough to have my own bedroom and a blonde Magnavox stereo, where I would load the record player and carefully place the 78 record on the turntable. I would sing to my heart’s delight, and apparently got so loud that on a particular evening at supper’s call, I came bouncing down the stairs with glee to the dinner table to join the family, when my mother turned to me and asked, “Was that you singing up there?” to which I joyfully replied, “Yes!” (expecting a compliment). My mother’s reply was, “You sounded like a sick cow,” and that broke my spirit for the longest time. I couldn’t sing aloud anymore even though the desire never left me.

After high school, I decided that I was going to join a rock band, but had to deal with this fear of singing in front of people that was now instilled within me. I found a woman who was such a blessing to me. Through many counseling sessions, she helped me to overcome my fear of public singing, even though I continued to battle the butterflies in my stomach and somewhat debilitating stage fright which I tried later on to overcome with drugs.

There are many good reasons why we ought to sing, and today, in 2025, I have created a singing circle to help others to overcome their various limitations as I have learned to do, which can benefit us physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. Most of the time, the first response I get when asking someone to join my singing circle is, “I can’t sing,” or, “You don’t want to hear me sing!” I understand in part, why they might be saying this, but in most cases, they haven’t come to realize that most people don’t sing well without lessons. Ear training can help tremendously for those who can’t carry a tune. Like anything else, it takes practice to refine the voice for singing with confidence. My singing circle does not require talent, so let’s start by looking at Biblical reasons why we should sing. Note which one of the following Scriptures tells us only to sing if we have a good voice:

Exodus 15:1: “Then Moses and the Israelites sang this song to the Lord: ‘I will sing to the Lord, for he is highly exalted. Both horse and driver he has hurled into the sea.’”

1 Chronicles 16:23: “Sing to the Lord, all the earth; proclaim his salvation day after day.”

Psalm 13:6: “I will sing the Lord’s praise, for he has been good to me.”

Psalm 33:3: “Sing to him a new song; play skillfully, and shout for joy.”

Psalm 95:1: “Come, let us sing for joy to the Lord; let us shout aloud to the Rock of our salvation.”

Psalm 96:1: “Sing to the Lord a new song; sing to the Lord, all the earth.”

Psalm 98:1: “Sing to the Lord a new song, for he has done marvelous things; his right hand and his holy arm have worked salvation for him.”

Psalm 105:2: “Sing to him, sing praise to him; tell of all his wonderful acts.”

Psalm 149:1: “Praise the Lord. Sing to the Lord a new song, his praise in the assembly of his faithful people.”

Isaiah 12:5: “Sing to the Lord, for he has done glorious things; let this be known to all the world.”

Did you find any verses that said we must first have talent to sing to the Lord? I don’t think so! In this case, it becomes quite clear that if we are in fact singing to God in our congregation, then every voice could be singing together, without excuses. Let’s take a look inside this book and find more reasons why it is good to sing, and if you’re somebody’s Bubbe, all the more reason for you to sing your best!

Note: In this book, I use the Name, “HaShem”, or “God” instead of the Holy Name of the God of Israel, to preserve the sacredness in reverence of His Most Holy Name.
