Worldwide, we can sense the increasing spiritual hunger in today’s generation to give their entire lives to Jesus as soldiers of light in His army. But the big question is, which qualities is Jesus looking for in his end-time soldiers? Elvis Boateng offers insights into the ten most important lessons he learnt in his first ten years of walking with Jesus. Amongst other things, in this book you can learn, which elements make up the DNA of a soldier of God, what it means to live a life defined by eternity and not by fears or the opinions of men, why every effective soldier must learn to be wiser than distractions and also to understand that less in life is sometimes more, why the healing of your soul is relevant for the fulfilment of your calling and why above everything else, the purity and attitude of our hearts have the highest priority for God. If you recognise God’s calling for your life and are hungry to live out your unique DNA as a soldier with God’s help, then this book invites you to take the next crucial step toward fulfilling your calling.

Foreword

In a world, ruled by constant pressure, where your deeds have greater meaning to life than the person you are to be, it’s essential for children of God to make ourselves available to God, for His service. Thus, we ought to know that our identity in Christ is far more significant than our actions. Because when we know who we are in Christ, our deeds automatically align with that understanding.

Accordingly, this book primarily does not serve as a medium to transmit a set of skills or as a how-to-do-it-yourself book. This book serves as a spiritual surgery room by which certain traits that God’s end-time soldiers are made of, as in their personality, their mindsets, their heart postures and habits are developed through His word and spirit. If you feel God’s urgent call to serve the Lord and live as a devoted friend and servant of Jesus, I want to invite you; open your heart to be utterly transformed by God’s spirit and His word.

“O house of Israel, can I not do with you as this potter?” says the Lord. “Look, as the clay is in the potter’s hand, so are you in My hand, O house of Israel!” (Jeremiah 18:6)

So, in this book, I will give you the ten most important lessons the Lord has taught me during the ten first successful years of my journey with him!

I strongly believe that the reason why the Lord took me on such an unusual path was not only to gain wisdom in my teenage years, but to enable a spiritual DNA for God’s end-time soldiers through wisdom and knowledge from my experiences. And I believe you are one of them!

My walk with Jesus started when I was fifteen years old. Before I turned sixteen, God had established an organization. It expanded internationally in just three years and today and today it has become an apostolic network with its headquarters located in Düsseldorf, Germany.

Ever since, I have led hundreds of people to Christ, witnessing countless healings and miracles throughout my ministry. I have discipled many people of whom a considerable amount of people are positioned in leadership positions in the body of Christ and society, several went on to start their own ministries. Besides, I have released songs and got married. Without a doubt, all of this was merely possible by the grace and faithfulness of God! So, saying all of this, I want to make the following point:

Biblically speaking, in every generation God raises people and takes them through different generations through unusual paths in life, using their stories to spiritually transfer a DNA of Jesus, the head of the church, to their generation. Yet, this period was not only adorned with moments of success, but also of deep pain and sorrow, disappointment and betrayal, mental battles and even more – but of all this eventually to the glory of God!

… that you do not become sluggish, but imitate those who through faith and patience inherit the promises (Hebrews 6:12).

Look to Abraham your father [your brother Elvis in this case], and to Sarah who bore you; for I called him alone, and blessed him and increased him (Isaiah 51:2; own insertion).

Introduction: A soldier’s DNA

Several months ago, I watched a documentary about the police force in Germany and I remembered how demanding it is to apply for the training process of that profession. People mostly failed the sports exam. The official application papers said: “The profession as a police officer might be physically as well as mentally very demanding. Spending eight hours on patrol can be burdensome, and a usual workday can immediately turn into a serious matter, requiring one to be alert and highly concentrated. For that reason, we are in need of applicants who are physically fit and who constantly make sure to maintain their health.”
