CHAPTER 1

Kenneth Amadi stares out the window of the 7th floor of his office building in the plush area of Victoria Island in Lagos with a glass of his favourite scotch drink in his hand- he smiled to himself; he had achieved most of his dreams and goals he set for himself ten years ago and was still moving at rapid pace. Then at 26 years working in the IT department of Peaktop Bank PLC a new generation bank in Lagos, Nigeria, Kenneth made the brave but shocking decision( mostly to his parents) to quit being a young IT officer at Peaktop Bank to start his own Digital marketing and solutions agency. He remembered the conversation he had with his parents, his father Chief Joe Amadi did most of the talking while his mother just sat down staring at him probably wondering if the village people had cast a bad spell on her son.

“Do you know what you are doing”? Chief Amadi asked.

Kenneth unsure if to answer with a simple yes or give a detailed explanation on his decision, he chose the latter- he explained his dream to set up a digital marketing company, how he intended to start the business, prospective clients willing to take a risk with him and lastly but most important how much he had raised as capital and how much extra funds he needed.

“So you don’t even have enough money to start, which shows you have no plan” said Chief Amadi with his signature frown on his face.

Kenneth who was used to his Dad interrogation style was not about to be fazed by it, “Daddy I just told you my plan, I just need extra…….. “Maybe you should have thought of that before you quit your good bank job after just two years” his Father cuts in.

“Nnam we just want what’s best for you, is this what you really want” Mrs Amadi who had been quiet all through the interrogation asked.
