How to Handle the Pressure!
For the sake of carrying on with my ideas for this book, I kindly ask you to drop all your negative preconceptions about billionaires and rich people in general. My mission throughout this book is not to praise them, even though you'll see a lot of it, but to make it clear to everyone that billionaires and rich people are major drivers of well-being and make our lives much more feasible and much less needy.
We live in a time where most economists, if not all, and everyone else, attack and demonize billionaires and millionaires as if all of them have attained their wealth by dishonest means. This is not the case for the vast majority of them. It's my concern to lead you through the idea that, instead of envying the 1% richest people in the world, which is the case for most people who only see them with eyes of envy and jealousy, you should work towards the goal of being as close to their rank as possible. Don't criticize them, join them. This is the best way for you to benefit and help those you love, as well as be a driving force of benevolence throughout the world.
Think about it for a moment. Would you be able to help someone who is drowning if you were drowning as well? It is almost impossible! You have to first dig yourself out of the hole you put yourself in, and only then will you be able and entitled to help others find their way out. Do not philosophize about being an expert at any topic or skill until you are actually really successful at them.
Now, let’s see how the billionaires can help you join them so you can help yourself first and then those around you.
After reading the title of this book and the preface, you might be thinking I'm also a billionaire, or at least a millionaire. That couldn't be farther from the truth. The reality is that I have been jobless for 4 years. I have tried many ways of making money at side hustle gigs, but none really put any bread on my family's table. No matter what I seem to do, it's all turning unfruitful when it comes to earning money. However, I'm not a complete loser, as it might be crossing your mind at this moment. I have reached the post of Managing Director at the age of 35 and my current net worth is a bit shy of US$1 million, but my main problem is that my properties are generating less income every month as there's a revolution in the country I come from (Lebanon), an economic meltdown, and now the infamous pandemic has completed the set for a perfect disaster.
That's exactly why I have decided to write this book about the advancements billionaires bring to our society. Because I'm an outsider, by being so, I have no interest in defending this class.
My mission here is to "illustrate" to you that there is always a different perspective on everything in life. As the great Stoic Roman Emperor Marcus Aurelius said, "Everything you hear is an opinion, not a fact; everything you see is a perspective, not the truth."
My intention is to clarify that, indeed, billionaires and rich people have a positive role to play in every society. No one is 100% good or evil. This book is not about money. It’s about mindset, and it is powerful in making you think in a whole new way!
