Introduction
Financial freedom means many things to different groups of people. To a teenager, for example, it might mean leaving mom and dad to live independently in his or her own residence.
To some other persons that may be of retirement age, it might mean never having to work again and still having enough cash flow that will keep sorting out the bills (i.e the pensioners).
Regardless of what you believe, money remains that thing that makes the world go around.
Financial freedom or independence can help you achieve all your dreams and help you live the quality of life that you really want to live.
On the other hand, if you’re in the jail of poverty, there are going to be a lot of things that you cannot do for yourself and those around you.
There will be so many problems you cannot attend to, not because you don’t have the good intention to do those things, but simply because the financial liberty you require to perform is not there.
What Is Financial Freedom?
FINANCIAL FREEDOM IS a financial status where one stops working for money: but rather his money starts working for him.
I know a lot of people may disagree with this definition but it remains the truth. Financial freedom goes beyond having a lot of money. It also goes beyond having a lot of cash flows in your bank account.
No matter the amount of cash flow you have if your cash flow is not happening without your effort and your time, am sorry to announce to you that you are still a slave to your finances. If you don’t work, you don’t eat.
Take for example; two different men who received the same sum of money. One decides to open a boutique with his money.
The other man buys a car with his money, converts it into a taxi, and employs a driver for the taxi.
Good spending Ideas from both men. But the second man who bought a taxi is definitely wiser.
This is not because of what he chose to spend his money on, but because he decided to put someone in charge of the day-to-day running of his business by getting a driver for his taxi business.
Now, don’t get me wrong. The other boutique guy will make money from his business too but at the expense of his time and efforts.
The mindset of the poor will always suggest that you do your business yourself without getting any other hands involved so you can make more money by not having to pay any working staff.
Yes, you may be correct. But the day you fall sick or become indisposed, that shop will remain closed until you recover. Now think about what you stand to lose on such an occasion.
The other taxi owner can decide to pay 10 percent of every return made from the taxi business to the taxi driver and keep 90 percent for himself.
But he is sure to always get his 90 percent day in and day out without even lifting a finger, and still has time to do other things for additional income.
