FOREWORD
It’s now been fifty years of faith for me, not to be mistaken for fifty years of religiosity. Faith has nothing to do with religion. Faith is life. It’s been fifty years that I have experienced true life. It’s never been easy, but this faith has sustained me and made me see the impossible. I’ve been through many deserts, just like you, just like all of us who are born of God.
We were freed from slavery, just as the people of Israel were delivered from Egypt and headed towards the Promised Land. But to get to the Promised Land, they had to cross the desert. Likewise, we’ve been delivered from the bondage of sin and we’ve headed towards eternal life. But to get to eternal life, we have to cross the desert, which is life in this world. We’re in the desert now. To cross it, we have to have loyalty and character. Our faith can’t be just theory, but be lived out on a daily basis. This requires total commitment.
