Cosenza and Rende are two distinct municipal administrations, but they form a single urban and social agglomeration. For decades there has been talk of unifying the two municipalities also from an institutional point of view, but it is an easy action to say and difficult to do.
Our e-guide could not, however, be influenced by political issues. We have, therefore, decided to look at what was most convenient for the visitor and that is to describe a reality that in fact is unique. It is necessary, however, to clarify that this was not the case in the past. Cosenza, which is the capital of the homonymous province, was a city of great importance, while Rende was nothing more than a small peasant village.
