Crocheted Collar Pattern

MATERIALS REQUIRED — American Thread Company "STAR" Six Cord Mercerized Crochet Cotton or Gem Mercerized Crochet Cotton.

5 Medium or 2 Large Balls Size 30—White or Colors.

1 Steel Crochet Hook No. 11 or 12.

Make a ch about 25 inches long, d c in 5th st from hook, *ch 1, skip 1 st, d c in next st repeat from * until there are 15 meshes or work measure 2¼" (½ of back), ch 2, d c in same space (this is an increasing point) work 39 1-ch meshes, about 5 inches (shoulder) ch 2, d c in same space, (2nd increasing point) work 29 1-ch meshes, about 4½ inches (front), ch 2, d c in same space (3rd increasing point) work other shoulder, and 2nd half of back to correspond ch 4, turn (cut off remaining ch).

2nd Row—D c in mesh, ch 1, d c in next mesh con­tinue meshes across row working 1 d c, ch 2, 1 d c in each increasing point. Repeat 2nd row 13 times.

Next Row—Begin ruffle. *ch 8, sl st in next mesh, repeat from * to mesh before increasing point, ch 8, sl st in increase, ch 8, sl st in same space, ch 8, sl st in same space, ch 8 and continue loops all around increas­ing in each increasing point, ch 10, turn.

2nd Row—S c into loop, *ch 8, s c in next loop, repeat from * across row, ch 10, turn and repeat 2nd row twice, ch 10, turn.

5th Row—3 d c in loop, *ch 5, 3 d c in next loop, re­peat from * across row. Repeat 2nd and 5th rows 3 times, then repeat 2nd row.

Next Row—Ch 10, turn, 2 d c in loop, ch 4, slip st in top of d c for picot 1 d c in same loop, *ch 5, 2 d c, picot, 1 d c in next loop, repeat from * across row.

Around neck, *1 s c in 1 mesh, 2 s c in next mesh, repeat from * and work a row of 3 ch loops around neck of collar and work three loops in back for button­holes.

Beaded Collar Pattern

Materials:

The Famous “PURITAN” CROCHET COTTON, Article 40 or

“DE LUXE” Quality CROCHET COTTON, Article 346.

1 ball Flamingo or color desired and

1 spool “STAR” Mercerized Sewing Thread, Article 400 to match.

42 small pearl beads.

63 medium pearl beads.

21 large pearl beads.

Adjustable pearl clasp from necklace.
