Milk Glass Tumbler Jacket Pattern

Materials:

COATS & CLARK'S O.N.T. "SPEED-CRO-SHEEN" MERCERIZED COTTON, Art. C.44: 1 ball of No. 1 White.

Milwards Steel Crochet Hook No. 2/0 (double zero).

BOTTOM … Starting at center, ch 4. 1st rnd: 15 dc in 4th ch from hook. Join to top of ch-4. 2nd rnd: Ch 3, dc in same place, 2 dc in each dc around. Join. 3rd rnd: Sc in each dc around, increasing 8 sc evenly around—to inc 1 sc, make 2 sc in 1 sc. Join (40 sc on rnd).

SIDE PIECE … 1st rnd: Working in back loop only, sc in each sc around. Join. 2nd rnd: Sc in first 3 sc, * tr in next sc, sc in next 3 sc, allowing the tr to curve to front of work. Repeat from * around, ending with tr in last sc. Join. 3rd rnd: Sc in first sc, * tr in next sc, sc in next 3 sts. Repeat from * around, ending with sc in last 2 sts. Join. Repeat last 2 rnds alternately until Side Piece measures 2¼ inches. Break off.

Pink Glass Jacket Pattern

Materials:

J. & P. COATS "KNIT-CRO-SHEEN" METAL­LIC, Art. A.64: 1 ball of No. M.46-A Mid Rose.

Milwards Steel Crochet Hook No. 2.

Use thread double throughout.

BOTTOM … Starting at center, ch 2. 1st rnd: 6 sc in 2nd ch from hook. 2nd rnd: 2 sc in each sc around. 3rd rnd: * 2 sc in next sc (1 sc increased), sc in next sc. Repeat from * around. Sc in each sc, increasing 6 sc evenly on each rnd until piece measures same as bot­tom of glass. Sl st in next sc.

SIDE PIECE … 1st rnd: Sc in back loop of each sc around. Join to first sc. 2nd rnd: Sc in same place as sl st, ch 3, 3 dc in same place, * skip 3 sc, in next sc make sc, ch 3 and 3 dc. Repeat from * around. Join to first sc. Turn. 3rd to 6th rnds incl: Sl st in first 3 dc, * in next ch-3 loop make sc, ch 3 and 3 dc. Repeat from * around. Join and turn. At end of 6th rnd, ch 3, turn. 7th rnd: Dc in same place as sl st, * sc in next ch-3 loop, 3 dc in next sc. Repeat from * around, ending with dc in same place as first dc was made. Join and break off.
