Hello,
Thank you for picking this e-book for your destination wedding in Italy.
My name is Monica Balli and I have been creating amazing memories through destination weddings, parties and any sort of celebration in the last 20 years.
I decided to write this book to share with you my personal thoughts, likes and do’s and don’ts as in the years I have seen how the market has developed and now many of you love the idea of a destination wedding, and naturally Italy is a great destination.
Destination Italy has it all, I understand your point. From amazing countryside and history, to tradition and food, a lifestyle, the views, the sea, the mountains and cliffs, the beaches, as well as the amazing cities.
In one word I would say: Welcome to Destination “Romance”.
I hope you will enjoy it and find it useful. It’s a practical guide with those things I would do, pick or look for. It’s a personal guide based on my experience and likes, as I have a simple rule in my life and job: I just suggest and sell what I would buy myself….. in the years I’ve become quite picky :-)
This is my first advice:
Whatever you decide to do, go or say… Enjoy the Ride, it’s worth every second of it! Promise.
If you pass around Firenze, call me and stop by for a drink

Fernanda Bellucci
for creative arts video clips
I always loved to tell stories. Since I was a teenager my mother, an anchorwoman for a famous Brazilian TV, used to take me with her at work.
She often left me in a post-production room waiting for her and I really enjoyed observing how moving images could transmit so many emotions in a few minutes.
I grew up and when I turned 18 I started working in TV I graduated in graphic design, journalism and photography. In TV I worked as a reporter, responsible for production and post production of documentaries. I spent 10 years with TV Globo as a journalist until 2003, then I decided to move to Florence, in Italy. My father is Italian and Italy is always part of me. Your perfumes and its culture have always been asleep in my life.
A presto,

1. Let’s discover Italy!
Yup, for as small as this country may seem, trust me you can have lots to pick and choose from.
First of all, a little bit of geography to help you understand Italy, as a destination to make it easier, stress free and amazing for yourself and your guests who will travel with you.
Italy is that boot looking country, actually a peninsula, with water on 3 sides in the Mediterranean sea with a few major and minor islands.
Let’s divide Italy into 3 main parts:
North:Alps, Venice, Lake Como, Milan, Turin, prosecco and Barolo area
Central:Tuscany, Rome, Chianti region and Brunello the major island of Sardinia
South:Naples, Amalfi coast, Capri, Apulia, a major islands (Sicily)
As you will see, these 3 sections may seem just to make it easy on the map, but in reality we divide it this way as the climate, temperatures, people and traditions gather as alike in these areas.
What I will say in the book please keep it related to a wedding or event of any sort, naturally, if you are a leisure traveler every day of the year is a great experience to have in each and every corner of our wonderful country.
Let’s start!
green is north Italy
white is central Italy
red is south of Italy
The northern part of Italyis awesome in both winter and summer time, in my opinion, and less in the other seasons as they get rainy, cold and damp. There are specific areas that are amazing for their local precious and famous products like September is perfect for Prosecco and Barolo for wine grapes are harvested and November for the precious white truìffle of Alba in Piedmont.
If you love snow and wish for white winter wedding there are places you will discover in the next chapters that are just stunning! Trust me!

The central part of Italy, the very heart of Italy, with its sunshine is also my home: Tuscany with its cousin neighbors Umbria (amazing landscape and cities as Perugia and Citta di Castello ) and Lazio (the eternal city of Rome). Usually sunny in every part of the year makes it amazing. The best period, for me, for your wedding would be from April (most venues open from Easter time) to the end of October. Remember, this is the area of extra virgin olive oil and wine: wine grapes harvesting is between the end of August and the end of September, according to the weather. Olive picking is usually in November.
