Having started in 2003, this ongoing project serves the first registration of students short before and during World War II in Vienna. Social and Cultural Anthropology, then, was taught by the faculty of the Philosopher´s Department. Students with two or more lectures in explicit reference to Social and Cultural Anthropology were catalogued. The scientific field of Ethnology or Ethnography, as it was called in former times, had covered research about non - European peoples, mainly. This list makes clear, that a. student numbers decreased dramatically from 1938 on, and b. students with Jewish belief disappeared from the records completely.
