At different stages of our lives, we always have dreams we want to fulfil and goals we want to achieve. And this is independent of our age, because we are never too young or too old to set goals and realise them, and that is part of the special charm in life.

Unfortunately, the thrill of making dreams come true is sometimes interrupted at a young age. Have you ever asked yourself why?

I have heard of people who had so many dreams they wanted to fulfil but ended up accumulating a string of what they call "bad luck" or "I wasn't lucky in life", and when they tell you their stories, it seems that they are right to think that the string of misfortunes that happened to them was because luck ran out on them.

Believing in happiness is not a problem, believing that happiness can determine our lives is. If I am grossly overweight and have always wanted to lose weight, but end up forgoing diets because I find a life without sugar and carbohydrates horrible, withdrawing from physical activities and medical check-ups, how can I even think that my weight loss is haunted by bad luck?

It's illogical, but you'd be surprised how many such cases there are,

Or those who always felt a love for music and unsuccessfully started playing guitar, then wanted to try bass, piano, violin and drums; and when they realised they were accumulating instruments, they didn't know how to play any of them.

In the first hypothetical case, if I were that overweight person, even though my approach makes it look like I don't want to lose weight, I actually want to do it, and in the second case, these people also love music and I have no doubt that they would have loved to learn it, even if it was just a single but perfect melody on a musical instrument. So what happened?

It turns out that it's not just about wanting something, it's not just about having the best intentions, and it's not just about having access to the tools that make it easier to achieve the goal, and by tools I mean healthy eating, doctors and activities in the first case, musical instruments in the second.

More than all the tools put together, more than the enormous desire to achieve, only one thing is needed and the most important of all is SELF-DISCIPLINE.

That is the main theme of this book. Instead of explaining the meaning of the word self-discipline, I show you how to develop and implement it in your life.

What does self-discipline mean?

It means that you take control and do something of your own free will, without anyone else exerting pressure. You hold the reins and determine the rules and order.
