Discover your passion

"We launch incessantly against the passions. They are charged all the penis of man and forget that also constitute the source of all his pleasures. This is, in its constitution, something which we cannot say neither too good nor too bad. But what irritates me is that you are always consider only the negative side. It is believed to offend the right in saying a word in favor of its rivals. However, only the passions, and his great passions, can raise the spirit to great things. Without them there is no longer the sublime, both in costumes in both works; the arts retreat to their childhood and the virtue becomes pedantic." Denis Diderot, Philosophical thoughts, 1746

Work and leisure time

In recent years, go against the politicians became the national sport; the rest, if things go wrong in this area, the quality of life is lowered, and it is natural to complain.

Complaining in continuation, in addition to not solve problems, increases the perception of the malaise, a bit like when you have a headache and dwelling to think about the pain.

Then, instead of spending hours and hours to listen to the speeches of those who do not like because it thinks in the opposite way to you, with the consequence of "nutries" of anger and dissatisfaction, do not think that it is better to focus on who is more similar to you and that, perhaps, also speaks of the things you love? How many times, during breaks, you put yourself to chat with colleagues of the problems of politics, the lack of money or of your personal problems?

On the one hand, you might be thinking, "Well, in this way i vent and I feel better and then well are complaints.", but the reality is that, concentrating in continuation to the things that are not going well, you lose sight of things that could make your life pleasant.

Have you noticed the term that I used? "Nice", not "beautiful" or other high-sounding words used by people with superficial; yes, because we must be superficial to say that "Life is beautiful", because the reality is that it can be very painful or empty, for which it is good to use terms more moderate. Among the things that could make life pleasant, there are passions, i.e. those activities that excite us like few others.

The work ennobles man? In part yes, but a man without passions is like a robot that exists only for a specific function in the absence of which it would be useless. But man is not a robot, and what ennobles really is the art, imagination, talent; the work is something "useful", nothing more; any animal is able to obtain food (able to work, then), and only the passion exalts really human capacities, and also defines a clearer picture of who we are and what we want, giving us an object in this life.

In the film of the 2006 "The pursuit of happiness", Will Smith plays a father who must deal with a problem increasingly applicant: the lack of work and money. Unfortunately, whether we like it or not, the money and the job always affect our lives, but if we want to try to be happy, the best thing to do is focus on passions.

You know that many actors and celebrities, despite having a lot of money, have suffered from depression and attempted suicide? If you are poor and suffer for this your conviction, earn an avalanche of money could assist you, but without passion vivresti, always with a sense of emptiness. The rest, what are you doing with the money? Sure, you can travel, buy what you believe and not make too many sacrifices in the choice of food or other, but you can be happy even with little money, so how can you be rich and feel empty.

The true "sense of life", if you think about it, might just be the search for something special to our eyes, seem to be part of us, therefore, of vital importance to have a full life.
