Chapter 1

It was a cool Spetember evening as Patrick and Marybeth walked in their deserted city. "What are we doing? We should take the group and leave." Patrick said as he heard noises coming behind him. "Don't worry. Everything will be alright." Marybeth said as they walked into an ammo store and got more guns and bullets. "Look around us, baby. There's nothing left. Except for useless junk and all the ammo that nobody wanted." Patrick said before Marybeth stood up.

"Fine, you take the group. I'm staying" Marybeth said as she zipped up her backpack and started to leave. Patrick and sighed and then rubbed his eyes before he went and walked with her. "I'm sorry, baby. It's just that there are no more food. And we have people who need food." Patrick said before Marybeth stood in front of him. "Yeah but Patrick, this is our home." Marybeth said before Patrick said as he walked around her and then they walked to a nearest grocery store. "Lets go inside, baby." She said as Patrick nodded as Marybeth pryed open the doors. Patrick noticed a corpse walking to them as Patrick got his pistol out and loded it with bullets. "Gotta get those doors open!" Patrick yelled as Marybeth slowly opened the doors.

Marybeth got the doors open enough for the both of them to slip in. "In, quickly!" She yelled as her grip was starting to become loose. "Right." Patrick said as he slipped in and held onto the door so that Marybeth could go in. "Got it. Close the door." Marybeth said after she pulled her foot through and then Patrick and Marybeth watched as corpses surround them. Marybeth and Patrick looked at each other and then started to chuckle before they looked around before he turned on his flashlight. Marybeth grabbed Patrick's flashlight and then turned if off and took the batteries out. "Why the hell did you do that? We need the light." Patrick said before Marybeth looked at him.

"Are you crazy?" Marybeth asked before they both looked around after hearing a strange noise. Patrick walked in front of Marybeth while pulling out a sharp sword. "At least, I don't have a gun." Patrick said before Marybeth looked at him. "Ok. We will get rid of these things and we'll see who is better." Marybeth said as they sneaked to the back room. As they both looked into the room, a corpse was feasting on a person who was trying to survive. "Let me do this one." Patrick said as he stepped forward before Marybeth chuckled quietly.

Chapter 2

Patrick looked at Marybeth with a serious look on his face before he sneaked to the corpse taking his sword out. Marybeth quickly loaded her pistol and pointed the pistol at the ghoul. "You got the last few. Let me get this one." Patrick said before she sighed as she turned on the safety on her pistol. Marybeth crossed her arms and walked out before starting to look for food. She could hear a growl from the back room and then started to run to the back room afraid to see what happened. When she reached the back room, Marybeth had seen Patrick standing over the corpse with no bites on him. "So which is better?" Patrick asked with a smug look on his face.

Marybeth did a sarcastic laugh as they sat in office chairs that they had found. "Smart ass." Marybeth said as Patrick smiled while looking at her. "So we will stay here for the night. And tomorrow we will grab our group and head north." Patrick said before Marybeth sighed. Patrick knew that Marybeth didn't want them to leave home, but the both of them knew that food was starting to run out. "Hun, I know you don't want to leave but we have no choice." Patrick said before watching Marybeth and get up and lay on a nearby mattress. Marybeth couldn't deny Patrick's request anymore though she didn't trust where they might be going and stayed quiet when Patrick layed with her and held her. "You think things wiill be easy once we leave. But it will be harder." Marybeth said very quietly before falling asleep. The next morning, Patrick kissed Marybeth's cheek before he got up and looked outside.

Marybeth sat up and sighed quietly got up and got ready to leave the store. Patrick looked behind and then lost his smiled as he could tell that there was something wrong. "Are the doors open yet?" Marybeth asked as she took the lasers and statrted to fill her back pack. "Uhh, let's find another way to leave." Patrick said as he took her hand and then started to head to the fire escape as ghouls fill the store. Marybeth felt confused but she knew that it would be a mistake for her to ask Patrick explain. "Yeah let's go." Marybeth said as she watch the store fill up with the ghouls. After Patrick and Marybeth left the store, Patrick held the door closed as Marybeth quickly ran and looked for something to jam the door. "Hurry, baby! I can't hold it anymore!" Patrick yelled as Marybeth went and sat up a trap. "Ok, lets go." Marybeth saud as she ran and then she noticed that he wasnt at her side.
