Chapter 1

It was a dark and stormy night When Amy walked home from her office job that often kept her late at night, even though her boss knew that walking home late at night made her scared. "Come on, Amy. You know the route home." Amy said as she clenched her pepper spray in her purse since she didn't have a gun because the thought of having a gun was too much for her. The cool summer air couldn't keep her feeling better, and she felt worse when bright lights came on not next to her but behind her and she looked back and stood in her place frozen in fear. "Please, sir. Take my money and let me live." Amy said as she slowly bent down and placed her purse on the ground and flinched in fear as the heavily armored four-wheeler moved a little toward her. When the vehicle started to race toward her, Amy turned around and started to run to her house screaming and crying before the four-wheeler cut her off. "Ma'am! In here." an unknown man yelled as Amy looked around for a place to hide and seen that she looked at him forgetting that she didn't have her pepper spray. "How do I know that your no connected to this?" Amy said as she kept her eyes on the four-wheeler as the man looked at her with a sympathetic yet devious look. "Because I'm offering a free place to stay but if you don't want to stay here and get hurt, it's not my problem." The man said before Amy looked at him and then quickly ran into his house making him smile as he closed his door and locked it so that she would feel safe. "I'm sorry I asked that. I just don't like being around strangers." Amy said as the man watched her catch her breath before he went to her and carefully grabbed her hand before she pulled her hand back.

"I understand. Well, maybe we should get to know each other before you leave because I'm guessing you'll want to leave in the morning." The man said before Amy nodded while looking down at the floor before the man looked away. "Samuel." the man said before Amy looked at him confused before he cleared his throat. "Sorry, my name is Samuel. What is your name?" Samuel asked as Amy looked down again. "I'm Amy. Do you have any female sleepwear? I should be getting to bed so I can work in the morning." she said as she looked around and looked at pictures of him alone. "Um no, I don't. Why not stay up? We can get to know each other and then you can have a friend." Samuel said before Amy shook her head and then looked out of the window and seen the man in the four-wheeler sitting across the road and then ran to the bathroom screaming in horror and crying in fear. "What's wrong? Amy? Are you ok?" Samuel asked as he knocked on the door of the door as he could hear her crying and didn't know why she was so upset. "He's out there! He's gonna hurt me. Please help me, Samuel." Amy said as tears went down her face before Samuel realized that he should actually try to be a friend to her instead of taking advantage of her as he slept. "Hey, Amy? I do have really big clothes I could let you borrow. Come on out and I will give them to you." Samuel said as he tried to get inside the bathroom. "No, I don't want to if he is still out there. He will see me. I don't want him to see me." Amy said as Samuel stood against the door as he tried to decide on what to do and then he stood up as an idea popped in his head. "Amy, I have an idea but you will have to trust me." Samuel whispered as he turned the light off so that Amy could not be seen as she moved rooms. "What is it?" Amy asked quietly as Samuel
