A friendship bracelet is a handmade bracelet intended for a special person. A friendship bracelet is usually made of several strands of embroidery floss that have been knotted to form intricate patterns. People of all ages but particularly teens have made use different knotting techniques including that of macrame to create these bracelets for their friends. Because the technique is relatively simple, requires no special equipment and can be done with inexpensive materials, making and sharing friendship bracelets is something nearly everyone can do.

Friendship bracelets are an excellent project to carry with you everywhere you go! They're especially useful for those who have repeatedly failed to learn to knit or crochet. Additionally, I believe that learning how to create a friendship bracelet is one of those summer camp rites of passage, thus this might be compared to relearning how to ride a bike.
All you need is some embroidery floss to create a friendship bracelet! I'll demonstrate how to build the most basic of friendship bracelets - the candy stripe - in this tutorial.
You may create them as thick or as thin as you wish, and it's simple to learn how to make a friendship bracelet in less than an hour. You'll also improve your speed as you progress!
I apologize in advance for using many bracelets to explain how to build a friendship bracelet; I repeated many of the procedures to obtain the best photographs. Photographing small knots is quite difficult.
• Embroidery floss/tiny or slim yarn
• scissors
• duct tape or safety pins
The embroidery floss may be inexpensive and available in large quantities such as this one! You do not require anything elaborate. Simply ensure that it is six stranded; otherwise, it will be too thin to produce a lovely bracelet.
Additionally, Lion Brand yarn produces these adorable small skeins of yarn called Bonbons. And they are adorable.
The tape or pins will secure the bracelet in place while you braid/knot it.
The usual idea is to cut floss pieces the length of your fingertips to your shoulder - around 30 inches works fine for me! I attempted 25 with the first and it came really close.
My wrists are around 6 inches in circumference, so let's just say that you should measure your wrist and double it by five to be safe. You don't want to run out of floss and be unable to complete the project.:)
