CHAPTER ONE: Beginner’s guide to making balloon animals

Having the ability to manufacture balloon animals is a terrific way to keep kids entertained. Kids will be delighted by your unique inventions whether you are a parent, magician, clown, or healthcare provider. Check out the guidelines below for a beginner's guide to balloon art, complete with information on the best balloons to use, some simple methods, and some basic balloon animal lessons.

1st Step: Invest in a Quality Balloon Pump and Balloons

Instead of purchasing any old long balloons, invest in premium twisting balloons from a company like Qualatex or Betallatex. These twisting balloons are more robust and can withstand the strain of being twisted repeatedly without bursting. Balloons of size 260 are ideal for creating most conventional sculptures. Packs of the 260 size are recommended for beginners, however bigger and smaller sizes are available for those with more experience.

In order to protect your lungs, you should also invest in a high-quality balloon pump. Find a hand pump that works in two ways. This pump releases air on the up and down stroke, rapidly filling the balloon. If you have mastered making balloon animals and plan on doing it often, a floor pump is a worthwhile purchase.
