Chapter 1

The nations and its origin

“These are the families of the sons of Noah, after their generations, in their nations. And from these were the nations divided in the earth after the flood”.

Genesis 10:32

According to Hebrew Scripture the world was populated by the descendants of the three sons of Noah:

“And the sons of Noah that went out of the ark were Shem, Ham, and Japheth. And Ham is the father of Canaan. These are the three sons of Noah, and the whole earth was overspread from them”.

Genesis 9:18-19

“By these were the coasts of the nations divided in their lands, every one after his tongue, after their families, in their nations”.

Genesis 10:5

This is the first time that the word “nation” shows up in Scripture; in Hebrew the word is: גּוֹי gôy, it means: a foreign nation; hence a Gentile.

“These are the families of the sons of Noah, after their generations, in their nations. And from these were the nations divided in the earth after the flood”.

Genesis 10:32

According to Genesis 10, the total of nations that were initially established is 70:

Nations descending from Jafet: 14 nations

Nations descending from Cam: 30 nations

Nations descending from Sem: 26 nations

Modern genetics confirm the Genesis record

Genetics is the branch of biology that studies the genes and mechanisms that regulate the transmission of hereditary characters. Mitochondrial DNA comes from mothers. The ovules of the mothers transmit their mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA) to the cellular mitochondria of each child born.

Geneticists have been comparing genetic differences between different groups of people around the world. Only 5% of the genes that we all have are responsible for differences in physical appearance, the remaining 95% is common to all.

Other scientists measured the speed at which genetic changes occur. The conclusion is that the changes are very slow, we acquire approximately one mutation every 6 generations.

Dr. Nathaniel Jeanson(1), molecular biologist, downloaded data from the sequence of the human mitochondrial genome and published his findings in the Answers Research Journal, his results show that the number of mtDNA differences coincides exactly with the number predicted by the 6,000 year history of humanity in the Bible.

The mitochondrial DNA of the whole world does not show any trace of the 200,000 or more of the mutations predicted by the evolution model proposed by Charles Darwin.

Geneticists build tree diagrams using software that places the most similar genetic sequences close to one another, and the most dissimilar sequences in the longest branches. Dr. Jeanson found at least three distinct patterns in the human mtDNA tree diagram that confirm Genesis.

The interesting point is that the center of the diagram shows THREE MAIN TRUNKS, each one reflects a specific mtDNA sequence with only a handful of differences from the other two. The three main trunks, speak of the mtDNA OF THREE WOMEN, the three daughters in law of Noah.

Assuming that God placed the ideal mtDNA sequence in Eve, the differences between the three trunks arose from mutations, from the fall in Genesis 3.

Today there are basically three ethnic groups recognized in the world: Caucasians, Africans and Asians.

A second pattern appears that also fits the explanation of the three daughters in law of Noah. Assuming longer times between each generation, according to the Biblical record of lives before the Flood, and using today’s slow mutation rate, the 1,656 years between Adam and Noah would have produced the small amount of differences representing short lines between each trunk.

Secondly, 6,000 years of today’s slow mutation rate would produce exactly the measured number of mtDNA differences at present. Genetics again confirms Genesis!

Chapter 2

YHWH´s calling and patternfor the nation of Israel

“And I will walk among you and will be your God, and you shall be My people”.

Leviticus 26:12

In the list of nations of Genesis 10 there is no mention of Israel whatsoever, and the reason is because Israel did not exist yet. Years later YHWH would call a man: Abraham, from whom He would raise the nation of Israel.

According to Scripture´s chronology: Noah was the tenth generation after Adam, and he was born in the year 1056 Anno Mundi (this is as from Genesis1); the flood occurred in the year 1656 AM; the earth was literally “split” in the year 1765 AM, coinciding with the birth of Peleg whose name means “earthquake”.

Prior to this time the land was all together in one piece, in one supercontinent that scientists have called Pangea; Jerusalem was in its geographic center.

Abraham was born in the year 1948 AM and when he was 75 years of age, YHWH called him:

Year 2023 AM - 2109 b.C. (before Christ)

“And YHWH said to Abram, Go out of your country, and from your kindred, and from your father’s house into a land that I will show you. And I will make you a great nation. And I will bless you and make your name great. And you shall be a blessing. And I will bless those that bless you and curse the one who curses you. And in you shall all families of the earth be blessed. And Abram departed, even as YHWH had spoken to him. And Lot went with him. And Abram was seventy-five years old when he departed from Haran”.

Genesis 12:1-4

YHWH made five promises to Abraham:

1. “I will make of thee a great nation.”

2. “I will bless thee.”

3. “And make thy name great”

4. “I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee”

5. “And in thee shall all the families be blessed.”

YHWH complied with all five of them, and these promises are still active and valid today.

We can clearly see that it was YHWH´s pattern and purpose to raise and build out of Abraham “a great nation”, that would be a blessing for all the families in the world.

Therefore the nation of Israel WAS and IS meant to be “a great nation” and a “blessing to all the families on earth”:

“And now if you will obey My voice indeed, and keep My covenant, then you shall be a peculiar treasure to Me above all the nations; for all the earth is Mine. And you shall be to Me a kingdom of priests and a holy nation. These are the words which you shall speak to the sons of Israel”.

Exodus 19:5-6

It is YHWH´s design for Israel to be “a peculiar treasure above all people” and a “kingdom of priests”. A priest is meant to be an intercessor, someone that mediates between the people and the only one and true God, YHWH:

“It was shown to you so that you might know that YHWH is God, and no one else beside Him.

Deuteronomy 4:35

A tremendous responsibility and call for Israel: MEDIATOR between the nations of the world and the throne of God.

YHWH instituted 7 feasts (8 including the Shabbat) that were to be kept and celebrated every year by Israel. In the 6th Feast (Yom Kippur) to be celebrated on the 10th of the seventh month, 2 male goats were to be sacrificed for the sins of the people of Israel. In this Feast YHWH dealt with Israel as a nation, and if they did things well, THE NATION WAS STRAIGHTENED OUT BEFORE GOD.

Five days later (on the 15 of the seventh month) the 7th Feast started, this Feast is Sukkot, to be celebrated for 8 days. The interesting thing is that Israel had to sacrifice in every day of this Feast a decreasing number of young bulls, for a total of 70 at the end of the Feast. ¿What was Israel doing and why was it that a total number of 70 young bulls had to be sacrificed? The answer is: It was one young bull for each nation, remember there were a total of 70 nations that spread on earth from Noahs three sons.

This means that YHWH always had the nations of the world in His heart….!

Israel as a nation became YHWH´s “first born son”:

“And you shall say to Pharaoh, Thus says YHWH: Israel is My son, My first-born”.

Exodus 4:22

If YHWH carefully selected the word “first born”, it is because in His heart he had the purpose of adopting as “sons” other nations. YHWH chose the nation of Israel to be His people and He determined to be their God:

“And I will walk among you and will be your God, and you shall be My people”.

Leviticus 26:12

“For who is a great nation whose God is coming near to them, as YHWH our God is, in all our calling on Him? And who is a great nation whose statutes and judgments are so righteous as all this Law which I set before you today?”

Deuteronomy 4:7-8

“For you are a holy people to YHWH your God. YHWH your God has chosen you to be a special people to Himself above all people that are upon the face of the earth”.

Deuteronomy 7:6

YHWH intended to be their Father and Provider. He shared with them statutes and teachings that no other nation had.

YHWH promised Israel, that He would personally fight against, whoever dared to come against Israel as an enemy:

“But if you shall indeed obey His voice, and do all that I speak, then I will be an enemy to your enemies, and a foe to your foes”.

Exodus 23:22

The nation of Israel has lived tremendous experiences by the hand of YHWH, like no other nation in the world. Extremely powerful armies from different empires have come against Israel, and they were defeated by the supernatural power of YHWH.

As an example Egypt:

“I am YHWH your God, who brought you forth out of the land of Egypt, from being their bondmen. And I have broken the bonds of your yoke, and made you go upright”.

Leviticus 26:13

Egyptian archeologists find it very very difficult to hide or avoid all the evidence of Hebrew settlements in the land of Egypt:

Recently, Niels Peter Lemche has noted that “the silence in the Egyptian sources as to the presence of Israel in the country” is “an obstacle to the notion of Israel’s 400 year sojourn.” This is quoted from the Book Israel in Egypt from James K. Hoffmeier.(2)

South Arabian archeologists are in the same situation as their Egyptian colleagues, regarding Mount Sinai.

YHWH made a covenant for ever with Israel:

“For thou hast confirmed to thyself thy people Israel to be a people unto thee for ever: and thou, LORD, art become their God”.

2 Samuel 7:24

“And he said, LORD God of Israel, there is no God like thee, in heaven above, or on earth beneath, who keepest covenant and mercy with thy servants that walk before thee with all their heart”.

1Kings 8:23

YHWH promised to bless Israel, in such a way that Israel would lend unto many nations:

“Only if thou carefully hearken unto the voice of YHWH thy God, to observe to do all these commandments which I command thee this day. For YHWH thy God blesseth thee, as he promised thee: and thou shalt lend unto many nations, but thou shalt not borrow; and thou shalt reign over many nations, but they shall not reign over thee”

Deuteronomy 15:5-6

YHWH promised to exalt Israel above all the nations of the earth:

“And it shall come to pass, if thou shalt hearken diligently unto the voice of YHWH thy God, to observe and to do all his commandments which I command thee this day, that YHWH thy God will set thee on high above all nations of the earth”.

Deuteronomy 28:1

YHWH complied with all of His promises:

“And YHWH gave unto Israel all the land which he sware to give unto their fathers; and they possessed it, and dwelt therein. And YHWH gave them rest round about, according to all that he sware unto their fathers: and there stood not a man of all their enemies before them; YHWH delivered all their enemies into their hand. There failed not ought of any good thing which YHWH had spoken unto the house of Israel; all came to pass”.

Joshua 21:43-45

Year 2725 AM - 1407 b.C.

The nation of Israel occupied the land assigned by YHWH

After wondering for almost 40 years in the desert (because of their lack of faith) following the Exodus from Egypt, the people of Israel under the leadership of Joshua (appointed by Moses before his death), occupied the land known as the land of the Canaanites, by an express commandment of YHWH:

“When YHWH your God shall bring you into the land where you go to possess it, and has cast out many nations before you, the Hittites, and the Girgashites, and the Amorites, and the Canaanites, and the Perizzites, and the Hivites, and the Jebusites, seven nations greater and mightier than you, and YHWH your God shall deliver them before you, you shall crush them, completely destroy them. You shall make no covenant with them nor show mercy to them.

Deuteronomy 7:1-2

The reason why these nations were to be expelled was a judgment of YHWH, the consequence of carrying a curse they had inherited from Cam, one of Noah´s sons:

“And he said, Cursed be Canaan. He shall be a servant of servants to his brothers”.

Genesis 9:25

YHWH dealt with them and gave them a chance to be straightened out, but they refused to:

“But in the fourth generation they shall come here again, for the iniquity of the Amorites is not yet full”.

Genesis 15:16

The occupation of the land was gradual and the Israeli tribes frequently suffered from wars with neighboring nations. Prosperity began as the tribes united to form the monarchy. King David a true worshipper, expanded and consolidated the kingdom. His son Solomon inherited prosperity and peace. This enabled him to build the First Temple in Jerusalem. King Solomon in his youth prayed for wisdom, but it would have been much better if he would have prayed FOR A RIGHTEOUS HEART; because he ended disobeying and grieving YHWH very seriously, the proof is that with his death the kingdom split.

The full extension of the land assigned to Israel by YHWH goes from the river Nile to the river Euphrates:

“In the same day YHWH made a covenant with Abram, saying, I have given this land to your seed, from the river of Egypt to the great river, the river Euphrates, the Kenites, and the Kenizzites, and the Kadmonites, and the Hittites, and the Perizzites, and the giants, and the Amorites, and the Canaanites, and the Girgashites, and the Jebusites”.

Genesis 15:18-21

Summary

YHWH´s calling and design for the nation of Israel is UNIQUE, it can be summarized with the following Words of YHWH:

• “I will make you a great nation”

• “I will bless those that bless you and curse the one who curses you”

• “In you shall all families of the earth be blessed”

• “You shall be a peculiar treasure to Me above all the nations”

• “You shall be to Me a kingdom of priests and a holy nation”

• “Israel is My son, My first-born”

• “I will walk among you and will be your God, and you shall be My people”

• “¿Who is a great nation whose God is coming near to them, as YHWH our God is?”

• ¿”Who is a great nation whose statutes and judgments are so righteous as all this Law which I set before you today?

• “You are a holy people to YHWH your God. YHWH your God has chosen you to be a special people to Himself above all people that are upon the face of the earth”

• “If you shall indeed obey My voice, and do all that I speak, then I will be an enemy to your enemies, and a foe to your foes”

The nation of Israel plays a central and crucial role amongst the nations of the world, called to be witnesses:

“You are My witnesses, says Yehovah, and My servant whom I have chosen; that you may know and believe Me, and understand that I am He. Before Me no God was formed, nor shall there be after Me.”

Isaiah 43:10

Israel was and is designed by YHWH to be a light for the nations of the world.

In the year 1949 a.C., Israel’s Provisional Council of State proclaimed and made known that the emblem of the State of Israel should be as illustrated below:

Israel’s National Emblem

Chapter 3

Israel´s failure to walk within YHWH´s good will and purpose

“O Lord, shame of face belongs to us, to our kings, to our rulers, and to our fathers, because we have sinned against You. To the Lord our God belong mercies and forgivenesses, though we have rebelled against Him. We have not obeyed the voice of Yehovah our God, to walk in His Laws which He set before us by His servants the prophets. Yea, all Israel has transgressed Your Law, and turned aside, that they might not obey Your voice. Therefore the curse has been poured out on us, and the oath that is written in the Law of Moses the servant of God, because we have sinned against Him.”

Daniel 9:8-11

“For My people have committed two evils; they have forsaken Me, the Fountain of living waters, to hew out cisterns for themselves, broken cisterns that can hold no water.

Jeremiah 2:13

The one condition that YHWH demanded from Israel in order to prevail, was “to hearken diligently unto the voice of YHWH thy god”:

“Now therefore, IF YE WILL OBEY my voice indeed, and keep my covenant, then ye shall be a peculiar treasure unto me above all people: for all the earth is mine”.

Exodus 19:5

“Only IF THOU CAREFULLY HEARKEN UNTO THE VOICE of YHWH thy God, to observe to do all these commandments which I command thee this day”.

Deuteronomy 15:5

YHWH warned them in advance:
