Materials:

 

1 Pr. Standard No. 2 Needles—14 in.

1 Pr. Standard No. 4 Needles—14 in.

 

Scale: 7 sts. to 1 in.

 

Jack Frost Sport Yarn—4 2-oz. Balls

 

BACK: With No. 2 Needles cast on 114 sts. Work in ribbing of K. 2, P. 2, for 3 in. Change to No. 4 Needles, increasing to 119 sts. at even intervals across the row. Work in Pat. as follows:

 

PATTERN:Row 1—Knit. Row 2—Purl. Row 3—P. 2, K. 3, * P. 4, K. 3, repeat from * across row ending P. 2. Row 4—K. 2, P. 3, * K. 4, P. 3, repeat from * across row ending K. 2.

 

Above 4 rows form Pat. Repeat them until piece measures 9 in. from ribbing, or desired length to underarm. Bind off 10 sts. at the beginning of the next 2 rows, then bind off 3 sts. at the beginning of the next 6 rows. Work even until armhole measures 9 in. from 1st bound off sts. at underarm. Bind off 7 sts. at the beginning of the next 6 rows. Bind off remain­ing sts.

 

FRONT: With No. 2 Needles cast on 114 sts. Work in ribbing of K. 2, P. 2, for 3 in. Change to No. 4 Needles, increasing to 119 sts. at even intervals across the row. Work in Pat. same as back to underarm. Bind off for underarm same as back. Work over 40 sts. Place on st.-holder. On remaining 41 sts., K. 2 sts. tog. at center front, and work across row. Work 2 rows even, then decrease 1 st. at neck edge every 3rd row to 21 sts. Work even until armhole corresponds with back. Start­ing at shoulder edge, bind off 7 sts. at the beginning of every other row 3 times. Work other side to correspond. Sew shoulder seams.

 

SLEEVE BANDS: With No. 2 Needles, on right side of gar­ment, pick up 150 sts. from end to end of armhole. Work in ribbing of K. 2, P. 2, for 6 rows. Bind off.

 

NECKBAND: With No. 2 Needles, on right side of garment, pick up 40 sts. across back of neck. Work in ribbing of K. 2, P. 2, for 8 rows. Bind off. Starting at left shoulder, pick up 69 sts. on one side and 69 sts. on the other side to right shoulder. Work in ribbing of K. 2, P. 2, for 8 rows, knitting 2 sts. tog. twice in center front on each row. Bind off, knitting 2 sts. tog. twice in center front.

 

Sew seams on shoulders.

 

Sew underarm seams.
